Steven Hawking is a hoax. I forget the names, but there were people trying to expose the whole thing as a propaganda psy-op. The disease afflicting him would have long-since rendered him a vegetable 2 decades ago. His "wife," that attractive UK blonde, isn't his wife - she's his handler.
The people out there trying to make the case for this had me convinced. I'd point you to youtube but I imagine content like this has already been banned.

The disease infecting him, or rather the condition he suffered, since I don’t believe it was an acquired illness, should’ve killed him a good couple decades before, yet he was still very much alive till quite recently. To be fair, I disagreed with the man on about everything I could, beyond the science ofc but I respected the hell out of him. Even in a broken down chasis, with almost all of his controls blocked and misfiring, he still persevered and still found ways to work in his beloved field. He always was and will continue to be a true inspiration to me personally and probably a fuckload of others throughout the planet.
It actually “should” have killed him in the 1960s, and was fully expected to, and then he lived longer than any doctor then said he would. And then even longer. Fortunately he had a lot of financial support to help him along the way, and as his name became bigger a lot of doctors and companies willing to donate time and resources.
And no, it was not acquired, it is a genetic illness. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is thought to have some environmental factors, but two genes are known to also be related.
If you are married to a person with a grave disability, you usually are a handler too, by necessity.
You think “no person I think pretty will stay with an ugly man like that”? Well, if you love someone, you want to be with that person. Most of us grow old and infirm, and sooner or later one spouse will have to take care of the other. That's life...
Hannah Cockroft was told in 2008 that she would die of Multiple Sclerosis in 2012. Four years later, she won Gold medals in the 2012 London Paralympics. She won more in the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
Your entire 'argument' is in a worse state than Prof. Stephen Hawking: and he was cremated , OP.
Meanwhile, no doubt inspired by his speech at the very beginning of said London Paralympics - as proved four years later in Rio - Tokyo awaits for Hannah.
I guess we make 'em tougher here in Britain, Zero Credibility.
@Chloe
I figured you meant the OP’s userpic. I tried to check the link but couldn’t and was stonewalled by some “question” thingy.
I should’ve been clearer.
I do confess that Young-1960s-Hawking was kinda cute in an adorkably geeky, “Young Bill Gates” sort of way.
@Spukikitty
He does, doesn't he?
Confused?
