You are correct that civil war is coming and that we will defeat them yet again, just as we did in the 1860s. Here is how it plays out:

Right wingers continue commit acts of violence against peaceful protesters, asylum seekers, and refugees. Global consternation turns into global condemnation turns into global outrage turns into global push to act.

Russia, as it has said in the past, begins to arm paramilitary militia units within the United States and encourage them to break free from the containment strategy that has kept them broke and in the wilderness for the past half century. The EU counters this with their own special forces, training Americans to resist fascism and arming them to do so. The EU is very adept at urban guerrilla warfare. Russia is not. Advantage: us.

The militias, located mainly in rural outposts, essentially sit and spin - talking a big game on the internet while we maintain control of all major cities. With the backing of all non-dissenting US Military forces which includes all Pentagon staff and the entire intelligence community but only 80% of rank and file marines/sailors/what have you we begin to strike those militias from the sky. We control NORAD and the airspace over their playtime forest enclaves and we bomb them into non-existence. We them move in regular forces to clear the area for refugee and asylum seeker residence. Two birds, one stone.

War is bad, but often necessary. This one has been brewing for some time now and the benefits finally outweigh the costs.
