Whether you believe Ford or not it's very clear that Kavanaugh was lying about his past.
People that knew him from Yale and as far back as high school were texting each other in a flurry during the hearing talking about how appalled they were at how he was not only misleading but outright lying about his drinking and about all the crap like "boofing" and the "devil's Triangle" and the "FFFFF" thing he said was about a friend rather than the acronym they knew it to be, about the "Renate Alumni" that was an underhanded way of saying Renate Dolphin was "easy" to date. Renate was being honored for "just being one of the boys" says Kavanaugh. He portrayed himself as a Boy Scout and it was a line of complete horseshit. He lied about not knowing he was the "Bart" in Judge's book and then a hand written letter from Kavanaugh wrote came out that he had signed "FFFFF, BART". He even lied about how and when he learned about the second accuser and had already text messaged friends from Yale to try and get people to back him up. Etc. Etc.
Then you have the "fig leaf" of an intentionally hamstrung FBI background check where the Trump administration limited it to a week and specified that only a few people could be interviewed, none of which were Ford or Kavanaugh. Of course this neatly kept Kavanaugh from having to repeat his lies to the FBI and exactly why he ALWAYS AVOIDED specifically saying he welcomed an FBI inquiry because he and the GOP knows the FBI would eat him for lunch if possible for lying. This sham of an investigation ignored over 25 people, many of whom insisted they could corroborate his other accuser, and ignored others like the Yale classmates that were revealed to have been contacted by Kavanaugh. One of whom is freaking out via text to those he had told "in confidentiality" that Kavanaugh had contacted them about the second accuser, freaking out that it got leaked to the news, because Kavanaugh had already lied to the Committee claiming he didn't know anything about the second accuser until he had read the TNY article. Sure sounds like that person really-really didn't want to be publicly outed let alone chat with the FBI.
His display of temperament during the hearing was appalling. His ranting about a conspiracy against him, blowing all the dog whistles, and promising a "what goes around comes around" threat against his perceived political enemies. How can this man ever be believed to be impartial on the bench when faced with deciding politically oriented cases that come before SCOTUS ?? For this reason thousands of law professors and dozens of state attorney generals have signed a statement saying he should not be confirmed and the number is increasing daily. For the first time in history a retired SCOTUS judge came out publicly against a nominee saying Kavanaugh was not fit to sit on the court. Etc. Etc.
Trump mocked and lied about Ford's testimony which was then, of course, backed up by that lying POS Sanders saying he was just stating the facts. Ford testified clearly which floor it happened on, she testified what year, she even testified a close enough date to a party on July 1st that was marked on Kavanaugh's calendar. The same calendar that listed the very group of people (save one) she claimed were present at the party and was the only date on that entire calendar that Kavanaugh listed those very same people as being together at one time.
How the fuck is that even possible unless she was at least telling the truth about the party itself ??
The really fucked up thing here is that Trump was given a list of 25 judges from that right-wing group. Every judge on that list ticked every box for the kind of rulings they wanted, from Roe vs. Wade to being corporate friendly over citizen and environmental protections. IOW, it didn't matter which one got picked, even the guy behind the list said as much and claimed he didn't even have a personal favorite and that any judge on the list was absolutely fine. The only stand out candidate to Trump was Kavanaugh who thinks the POTUS should be above the law, never indicted, never investigated as though he was royalty, ultimately untouchable which is exactly why Trump chose him.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS. THE RIGHT-WING, IN PARTICULAR THE EVANGELICALS, HAD NOTHING TO LOSE BY DITCHING KAVANAUGH AND MOVING ON TO THE NEXT PICK. THEY WOULD HAVE STILL GOTTEN WHATEVER THEY WANTED OUT OF ANOTHER PICK BUT INSTEAD CHOSE TO BACK AND BE COMPLICIT IN PUTTING A MAN ON THE BENCH WHO PERJURED HIMSELF AND MISREPRESENTED STATEMENTS OF WITNESSES IN HIS LIVE TV MELTDOWN. WHETHER YOU BELIEVE FORD OR YOU BELIEVE KAVANAUGH ABOUT THE ALLEGED ASSAULT IS IRRELEVANT.
Enjoy your moment in the sun Evangelicals, you just kicked your mythology in the balls again when you are already losing the younger generations at increasing speed. Prepare to bleed out even more for your hypocrisy and watch your churches continue to wither and die.
Enjoy selling out the so called "moral high ground" for a cheap hypocritical win against the "libtards" and laugh about the "salt" in order to put an entitled blue-blood narcissistic lying sack of shit on the highest court for a lifetime. A person who could have been honest enough to admit he was a shitty person back in the day and he overcame that instead of lying about it all.
I'm not even talking about him admitting anything about assaulting Ford here. He could have jerked a tear or two, even wept about how his belief in Jesus and asking for his forgiveness redeemed him and guided him to where he is at today. But no, you and the GOP needlessly backed his obvious lies for political and cultural gain.
No wonder that bullshit in your Big Book of Multiple Choice about you blind idiots being willing to "deal with the Devil" and "submit to the Anti-Christ for gain" is a thing. You are already primed like gullible tools, and it shows.
