One irony here in Britain is that an American is responsible for the many lives saved because of the 70 MPH speed limit on our motorways.
Although completely legal at the time, due to speed tests with AC Cobras on the M1 - reaching speeds of 180 MPH+ - Carroll Shelby’s activities were brought to the attention of a certain transport minister who raised the matter in Parliament, was debated & voted on, thus that law since. That same transport minister later made seatbelts compulsory.

Even if there’s any of you manbabies in my country, there’s less than fuck all you can personally do about it, even if you’re opposed to such laws. Less so with our current Prime Minister: and he was previously Director of Public Prosecutions.
It’s more than impossible when said PM - a man - appointed women to the senior ministerial posts of Deputy Prime Minister, Chancellor of the Exchequer and Home Secretary.
