Doctors know its safe and effective because its their job to know. I trust doctors more than I trust you Steve.

This job doctors have, they kinda depend on their patients living longer, right? To generate more income as registered patients, the drug kickbacks, the regular visits, the health insurance…??

“Their job is more important than your life.”
But… But… My life IS their job. If i kick off, that stops payments to my primary, epidemeologist, podiatrist, nephrologist, both opthalmologists, pulmonologist, rheumatologist, orthopediatrician, dentist, oral surgeon.
No more colonoscopies, either. No ER visits to find out what that weird bump is.
And it would increase the competition for patients among the survivors.

This is incoherent in our current medical system.

I can’t help but think about one of the scares being used to discourage public healthcare being that you can’t choose your own doctor - which is of course a big fat stinking lie - but then those same people who trust the government propaganda scaring them about being fools to trust the government running things (figure that shit out) quite readily believe that their family doctor is as a rule entirely disinterested in whether they live or die or even apropos of nothing relentlessly trying to kill them via medicine anyways.
