Off topic, but agreed! Regrettably, today's left seems to have forgotten the ills socialism inevitably and invariably bring. Gone are the days of revering the ideals that made this country great. Namely, self reliance, personal responsibility, family values, god fearing christian ideals, fiscal conservatism, and far less federal and far more local laws. Perhaps it is time for another great depression to recall what really matters.

Today's Republican support of Putin's meddling, anti-free press, banning real opposition, full-on propaganda techniques proves that the Right were never really against the dictatorial authoritarianism of Communist Russia like they pretended they were. They would have been totally fine with it if only it hadn't committed the additional sin of keeping people from getting too wealthy. The wealth was the only damn thing they cared about, and not the other human rights violations (violations that would have made for very legitimate complaints coming from anyone else who wasn't a hypocrite about it like they were). Under Putin, the new Russia has found a way to keep being a one-party state, that bullies neighbors and brooks no opposition and kills people for daring to oppose the dictator, but with the one change that heads of industry can now get rich and live extravagantly while all that happens, whereas before even they would still have modest living conditions under communism.
And that one small change is all the Right ever really cared about. That one small change and suddenly Putin is their friend, even though he's still the same propaganda-spewing dictatorial asshole who once ran the KGB. Toss in the fact that Putin is anti-gay and that Russia has a nearly homogenious racial make-up (i.e. very white) and the Right have even more reason to love him. The rise of Trump and his (already well known even before all the investigations) backing by Putin gave an opportunity to see how many on the Right were *really* pro-freedom like they all pretended they were all along, and it was sadly very few of them. It wouldn't have taken very many of them taking a principled stand against dictatorship for Trump to be unable to win. Sadly it wasn't even that many. Just a few who now complain from the sidelines (good for them), but not enough to hinder the party in any real way.

Socialism doesn't bring any ills as far as I am concerned. If we allow people to vote we should also allow people to manage their own workplace.
Gone are the days of revering the ideals that made this country great. Namely,
self reliance, personal responsibility,
How does socialism not allow that? Socialists are all about self-reliance and personal responsibility. We believe the worker and not the boss should be responsible for their own workplace.
family values,
Ah, yes, the family. Under socialism, you'll still have a family, you know.
god fearing christian ideals,
There are Christian socialists out there. I don't agree with them, but they exist.
fiscal conservatism,
Under anarchism there is no government. Don't you want that?
far less federal and far more local laws
You can still have that under socialism.
In short, this guy knows nothing about socialism.
Self reliance is great and no one is saying otherwise.
Isn't personal responsibility part of self reliance? Again whose actually against that? No liberal that I know. You realize that group responsibility still exists they don't cancel each other out. You are an individual and part of a group.
Family Values are very important. We just believe there is more then one type of families and all are important. Different families have different values and you have no right to define what is or isn't values
America has always been a secular country.
Fiscal Conservatism, it's funny since our most liberal spenders tend to be republicans.
Less federal and more state laws: funny how you pick and choose this. State laws are suddenly wrong when states try to legalize marijuana.
Who caused the last great depression?
Today's right seems to have forgotten a couple of little details like two world wars, neither of them having been fought to defeat socialism. And having defeated fascism twice, it looks as if we are now going to have to defeat it again, right here at home. The shame of it is that our own citizens AND OUR OWN GOVERNMENT are now complicit.

One of those you listed spells utter destruction for the one thing that represents everything else.
But then, Donald Fart has already destroyed all those ideals: Michael Cohen by taking just one - personal responsibility - will ensure his 'boss' of ten years won't be yours for four years, never mind eight.
And in just three months will the instrument of that process begin. In Soviet America, God - and your 'Emprah' - fears you . >:D

What are you talking about? World War I had precisely zilch to do with fascism or its defeat. Fascism was just taking its first baby steps during that war, and only rose to prominence in its aftermath - most importantly with Mussolini's rise to power in 1922.

That and the issue of religion. If it was an ultra-Russian Orthodox regime similar in some ways rather than an atheist one, they may have very well sung its praises.

Incorrect. Putin was a KGB foreign intelligence officer (rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel) - so not even close to running the whole KGB.

Not quite true. While roughly 80% of citizens are ethnic Russians (and thus white), a significant part of the rest is comprised of Asian people of various ethnicities.
Self-Reliance? I suppose you don't drive on the freeways? Built your own internet?
Personal responsibility? As Trump blames everyone but himself for his mistakes and treason, and the Right looks away and pretends nothing happened.
Family values like locking children up in cages.
God fearing Christian ideals, like lauding a president who lies six times a day, who has cheated on every wife he's ever bought, who appeals to God only when he needs evangelicals to support him.
Fiscal conservativism? Have you seen the budget recently? Totaled the costs of Trump's vacations?
Jesus, stop blindly accepting the lies of The Great Orange Turd.
Confused?
