For five thousand years, women have understood when they married a man, they give blanket consent to sex. Sleeping; bad mood; whatever. At times they don't want sex, but if their husband takes it while they sleep, they never thought it was rape - until you fiends told them it was. They might complain, but they never once thought it was a felony because they understood when they married he had the legal right to sex.

Sex is not a favour,it´s a gift. So, if you force a person to have sex against their will and harm them, physically or psychologically IT´S A SIN. And read the Bible again, there are diverse periods in which sex is not allowed, during marriage I mean.
How evil it was of modern thinkers to ever conceive of the idea that women, or married women for that matter, had anything like equal rights. Imagine that, not being able to rape your wife! It’s outrages!
Besides, if you think so, why isn´t a married man not allowed to, for example, make her wife rob a bank, for example?, or sleep with another friend of his?, and what happens if he forces her to sex while she is six months pregnant in a dangerous pregnancy and miscarriages the baby?, or kills her because she´s got a sick heart?, or worse, WHO IS TO BLAME IF SHE CARRIES A STD?
No, marriage vows traditionally don't talk about sex whenever the man wants it. Faithful, yes. Love, yes. Sex, no.
Nowadays, marital rape is usually considered a sex crime. But even when it wasn't, men have never in modern times had the right to beat or otherwise physically assault their wives - and it's kind of hard to rape a woman without committing that offense, too.
That's right, and the woman has the legal right to all her husband's money and property. She decides what to buy, how much to save, where to invest, she gives her husband his weekly allowance, and if he objects, she tells him to sleep on the couch because he's not getting into HER legally-owned bed. Then when he gets too old to work, she poisons him and collects the life insurance as well as his pension and Social Security.
Being a fiend has its benefits.
"For five thousand years, women have understood when they married a man, they give blanket consent to sex."
No. some women have accepted that idea, but I think it's mostly men who have clung to that position.
"Sleeping; bad mood; whatever."
No.
"At times they don't want sex, but if their husband takes it while they sleep, they never thought it was rape - until you fiends told them it was."
That's creepy, 64. Is that how your wife consents to sex with you, by falling asleep. You must be one heck of a lover.
"They might complain, but they never once thought it was a felony because they understood when they married he had the legal right to sex."
Waa! Boohoo. You can no longer legally force a woman to have sex with you. Try this: Stop being an asshole and develop some positive character traits, then maybe some woman will have sex with you voluntarily.
Yeah... there's one minor flaw in this. Women aren't inferior to men and marriage isn't a commitment to sex.
Also, if your wife doesn't even wake up when you do her, well... I can see why you'd be so angry. Got laughed at much?
Besides, for 5000 years women have understood that a man can have more than one wife besides them, that he could hit them, that they were not allowed to have property..............oh sorry, it hasn´t always been like that?
"Yeah... there's one minor flaw in this. Women aren't inferior to men and marriage isn't a commitment to sex."
Yeah, marriage is only a commitment to the man's wallet. Stupid man, for thinking he has actual rights in exchange for signing the marriage contract.
LK: I hope you are being sarcastic, otherwise you'll soon be at the front page next to this guy.
About the subject at hand: if women accepted that fact for 5000 years, why did they flee into monestaries, killed their husbands or otherwise ran away from their "responsibilities"? They didn't "accept" any of the things you mentioned. They were forced upon them, you might notice a differece if someone tries to take advantage of you (In any , most violent, way possible). I guess your assumption wasn't quite correct after all.
Yeah, marriage is only a commitment to the man's wallet. Stupid man, for thinking he has actual rights in exchange for signing the marriage contract.
Anything involving someone else's body is NOT a right.
Anything involving someone else's body is NOT a right.
How is this not clear ?
If A gives B money for sex and B subsequently refuses, B should return the money.
If A marries B and B doesn't want to have sex with them, A should get a divorce.
If A does something nice for B that B has not asked for, then B owes A nothing.
YOU NEVER HAVE A RIGHT TO RAPE!
PS--Please to note that not all men want sex and not all women want sparkly rings. If the only way you can imagine yourself getting laid is with a drunk/unconscious/asleep wife, there's something wrong with YOU. Some women rather enjoy the notion of enthusiastic consent to a non-rapist.
Hey, fucktard, if your wife doesn't even wake up while you're sexing her up, you're doing something seriously wrong.
That's what I thought. Almost funny when you don't focus on how frightening it is.
Rape Apologist Award nomination seconded!
Hey, fucktard, if your wife doesn't even wake up while you're sexing her up, you're doing something seriously wrong.
Unless he beat her unconscious first.. Or drugged her.
I know what he's doing wrong.
He's 64, and he's trying to have sex...
You fail!
I want to vote the No Shit Shylock award on this one. There's a quote from Merchant of Venice where Shylock after hearing of his daughters desertion cries out
"My flesh and blood rebel against me!"
Two of the men listening to the conversation leer out
"Rebels it at this age old man?!"
Nuff Said
OK Pete, so hypothetically, your wife is suffering from temporary insanity and wants to have sex with you, but as usual you're asleep and needless to say impotent.
Is it her legal right to shove a toilet brush up your ass and ride it till she cums? You get the spikey end!
Marriage, at least in the modern sense of the word(and it has evolved quite a lot, believe me), is not a commitment to sex. It´s a commitment to the other person. If you want to turn radical muslim or a Roman patrician is up to you.
Yep, we fiends really fucked it up for you manly men who like to rape women in their sleep, didn't we, Petey? So sorry about that.
Any woman who would voluntarily stay with you automatically qualifies for sainthood.
Or a straight jacket.
"Is it her legal right to shove a toilet brush up your ass and ride it till she cums? You get the spikey end!"
Good job conflating actual rape with feminist-influenced "rape."
And great job implying that I'm less of a man if I can't please my wife. Way to go. Do I have to ask whether it goes both ways or is it sexist like pretty much everything else on this board?
Let me guess, I'd be a loser and less of a man if my wife couldn't please me either, right??
Men can do no right according to you misandrist fuckers.
Not necessarily. I can walk and carry on intelligent conversations with people (with my eyes open and looking at them) while sound asleep.
I hear taht. My wife carried on a 45-minute phone conversation with her mom. Didn't remember a word of it the next morning when I told her to go pick her up at the airport. Luckily, I took notes.
For five thousand years, women have understood when their father/brother/cousins chose a man for them, they were forced to give blanket consent to sex. Sleeping; bad mood; whatever. At times they don't want sex, but if I takes it while they sleep, they never thought it was rape - until the Rohypnol wore off and until you sensible, normal people told them it was. How dare you call a rapist a rapist?!They might complain and cry out in pain but they never once thought it was a felony because they understood when they married he had the legal right to sex and I would beat the living shits out of them if they dared to usurp my autho-ri-tay!!!
There. Fixed.
...legal right, my ass.
If you don't want sex, you shouldn't be forced to have it. It's that simple.
Also, citation needed for the first sentence.
...dickwad.
rape
n.
The crime of forcing another person to submit to sex acts, especially sexual intercourse.
v. raped, rap·ing, rapes
To commit rape on.
Notice that the definition makes no reference to the victim's marital status. If women want to sell their bodies to men, they become prostitutes, not wives. Sexist moron.
You know...evolution, big bang, fine. Global warming, eh, it's kind of frustrating how you're hampering efforts to preserve the state of the Earth, but that's a much bigger issue, so again, whatever.
The Fundies are just kind of entertainingly screwed up until you get to gay and women's rights. Then it all goes thuddingly unfunny and depressing.
Actually, the golden rule (do as you would be done by) is thousands of years old too: in this context its application would be - don't make your wife do something against her will because you wouldn't like it if she made you do something against YOUR will. Be considerate, because you want other people to be considerate towards you. This guy does not have the first understanding of what moral behaviour is; I'd call him an animal except that's an insult to many animals. He's not a fundie either, just a thoroughly nasty piece of work in desperate need of therapy.
Yes, how dare we tell women they have an opinion on how their bodies are used, and the right to say no. How evil of us that you will need to content yourself with a bottle of hand lotion and a box of tissue.
Or rather, blanket consent is blanket consent. Wifey comes in with a 14 inch strap on, better bite the sheet, as it's gonna be a rough night.
For five thousand years, women were treated as property, not human beings.
Thank God, that is over now, at least in the developed countries.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
