[On the Kentucky Board Of Education approving an increase in evolution and climate change taught in it´s schools; completely removing creationism.]
The people that I talk to around here don't believe in that junk that we csme from a bunch of monkeys. That Darwin guy said it was all just a theory and could never be proven. And just where is that missing link? Never been found and never will be.
Our summers around here have been cooler than many of the past, which were usually scorchers. Nobody around here is buying the global warming stuff. But we do believe in saving energy and our air around here is clean.
That school board needs to work on improving student behavior: too many students are cursing and even assaulting teachers. The schools have gone down the drain ever since the court took prayer out. No one can mention God in school nowadays without someone claiming they were offended and filing some kind of ridiculous lawsuit. That's what that school board needs to work on - put God back in school and you will see a world of difference. When I went to school they did not have to have police officers and metal detectors. The biggest problem was chewing gum.

Yeah, we also didn't have conservative talk show hosts telling people to "aim for the head" back then either.
And no, the biggest problem back then was sweeping problems under the rug. You really believe all those girls actually went to "visit their aunt" for 5 months in the middle of a school year?
Wait, a right-winger advocating for teachers to be babysitters instead of bitching that parents aren't doing their jobs? Andwhen you were in school, it wasn't the Bible that kept kids in line, it was the corporal punishment that was permissible at the time.

Yeah. China becomes superior to you.
Kentucky has decided to secede from Dumbfuckistan. They want to ensure their country - USA - wants to stay one step ahead of it's superpower rival.
Or was the Cold War all for nothing?
Came from monkeys, just a theory, and the missing link. Three of the oldest and most knocked over straw men in the entire evolution debate.
And the tired old "schools would be safer if they'd put God back in" argument. Bullshit. If you think making kids recite a prayer or listen to a bible reading every morning is going to make everything peaches & sunshine, I've got news for you. Why don't those fine, upstanding Christian parents teach their children about their religion at home and in church, and instead rely on the schools to do it? Oh right, you want MY children to have religion forced upon them.
Besides, Kentucky already has the Cretin Creation Museum and the taxpayer-funded soon to be Noah's Ark theme park. What more do you want?
" That Darwin guy said it was all just a theory and could never be proven."
That Jesus guy said it was all just a myth and was proven false.

We have the fossils. We win.

Let's mention Allah in school then watch you be offended and file a rediculous lawsuit. Or maybe throw bacon at the nearest towelhead because filing a lawsuit is just so goshdarn hard to understand.
1) Get a dictionary and learn what a theory is
2) The reason we don't have missing links is because they aren't missing anymore.
3) Global warming predicts localized climate changes that can be warmer or collar than the past. Your description fits those predictions.
4) God has not been taken out of school, students can still pray and talk about god.
5) Just one example of what it was like before and after mandatory prayer was banned in schools in 1962: The 1950s saw the highest rate of teen pregnancies in the last 75 years while the 2000s saw the lowest rate of teen pregnancies in the same time period. Lesson learned: Prayer and your god are not factors is student behavior.
OMG! Kentucky actually did something RIGHT!!!
GIMMIE THE PHONE! I MUST CALL THE GUYS AT "RIPLEY'S"!
*a myocardial infarction ensues*
I'd say this is a great thing for Kentucky. Finally entering the 21st Century, hopefully?

PRATT, seconded!
This is precisely why we need increase teaching in evolution and climate change, because clearly you have no understanding of it.
No one can mention God in school nowadays without someone claiming they were offended and filing some kind of ridiculous lawsuit.
You can mention God, even teach about religion all you want. I would even encourage that, the kids might actually learn something about people different than themselves and not grow up be fundie bigots like their parents. What you can't do is have the schools promote any one religion, including Christianity. That protects you too, no one else would be allowed to try and make your kids take part in their religions prayers either.

Figures? We don't need no stinkin' figures!

We didn't have that either when I went to school. Funny thing is that by the time I did go, "God was removed from the schools" by then.

For you, guthrum?
Not science or math, chewing gum. And walking at the same time, I imagine.
Kentucky { {{shudder}} }
* It is indeed bullshit that we "csme" from a bunch of monkeys. We share a common ancestor. All lifeforms living today are just as much evolved, and none came from the other. We all came from lifeforms that are now extinct.
* Darwin said no such thing, he knew that there is not "just" about a scientific theory and that a hypothesis doesn't turn into a theory until there is evidence (layman's term: proof).
*For each missing link that is found, there are now two new missing links.
*Global CLIMATE CHANGE, numbskull. Global warming is just the pop nick-name.
* Nothing new under the sun; even the ancient Greeks complained about misbehaving youngsters.
* The court didn't take prayer out, the Constitution did, in the 1790s. The court just told the schools to follow the Constitution.
* You're free to mention any deity you want, as long as you're not a teacher forcing a class to perform religious rites. How would you feel if that teacher was a Muslim and your kids were in his class? Not so happy about God back in school now, are you?
* There are no police officers nor metal detectors in the schools in my country. It might have something to do with the fact that only policemen and hunters are allowed to own guns, only with a license, and no concealing them. The guns have to be stored in special gun safes with the ammunition in a separate safe.
* The biggest problem when I went to school was kids not learning what they should. Can you point out Sweden on a satellite picture of the world? How about the Ivory Coast?

Funny, I didn't hear a peep from you idiots last summer, which was one of the hottest on record around here. I know we had several all time highs. And yes, this summer has been quite cool. It's also been one of the rainiest on the record books. In fact, if we were to consistently get as much rain as we've had here, Kentucky would be reclassified as a temperate rain forest.
"The people that I talk to around here don't believe in that junk that we csme from a bunch of monkeys."
I don't either. No biologist believes that either.
" And just where is that missing link? "
In the mind of people such as yourself because there is not now, nor has there ever been, a "missing link".
" Nobody around here is buying the global warming stuff."
Maybe you should move to Kiribati and see if you still don't buy it.
Sigh--one more time. This is your brain. This is your brain on fundie...
Evolution does not predict that humans evolved from monkeys.
The whole "It's just a theory" criticism simply demonstrates you have absolutely no understanding of what the term 'theory' means when used in the context of the natural sciences.
"Missing link" is a popular term, not a scientific one. The scientific term would it best approximates would be "transitional fossils", which are found in numbers completely commensurate with our understanding of how rarely conditions allowing remains to be preserved as fossils occur in nature.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
