Do you think they should legalize child molestation?
Well, I am going to be provocative again. Molestation is only "molestation" when it is unwelcome. When it's welcome, it's "love," "sex," "petting" or something. When it's unwelcome, it should be illegal whatever the age of the person being molested. When it's welcome, it should be legal and unremarked.
Here's some more controversial stuff. I would like to see the age of consent lowered to 9 years. I'd like the law on rape to be tightened up so that it becomes harder to get a man convicted of rape when there is no evidence against him. I would like to see sex between close relatives living together legalised irrespective of the age of the partners. I would also like all victimless sex crime to be legalised.

Already the case, idiot.
The rest is just mind-boggling. A kid does not have the intellectual means to judge the consequences of her/his acts. Hel, even some adults have trouble with that.
As for the part about incest, WTF?
Is there any victimless sexual infraction?
This guy belongs in jail, because frankly, that is provocation to rape.
Molestation is only "molestation" when it is unwelcome.
You mean, every fucking time.
I would like to see the age of consent lowered to 9 years.
Die in a fire, pedocreep.
I'd like the law on rape to be tightened up so that it becomes harder to get a man convicted of rape when there is no evidence against him.
I really doubt any man has been convicted of rape when there was no evidence against him. A conviction like that would be overturned upon appeal with a competent lawyer.
I would like to see sex between close relatives living together legalised irrespective of the age of the partners.
Josh Duggar, is that you?
I would also like all victimless sex crime to be legalised.
There's no such thing as victimless sex crimes.
Lowering the age of consent will result in one thing for certain: more teen pregnancies. Either that will mean more abortions, or more teen parents.
Depending on how low the age of consent is lowered, that would likely be a life-ruining thing. Teen parents almost certainly cannot afford to care for their child with their own resources, therefor welfare will be further drawn upon.
Teen parents are also less capable of finishing school, since even in the absolute best case scenario they have less free time to study and most of the time things are far worse for them than that. Without education, the skilled workforce begins to shrink. This is generally considered a bad thing.
Of course the children could be put up for adoption, but that's an already straining system and a sudden influx of new adoptees would not be a great thing.
So, ignoring the moral implications entirely it is impractical to have the age of consent lowered significantly below the age of finishing school. When you factor in the moral implications of giving children the right to make decisions they are not experienced or mature enough to deal with...
Yeah, lowering age of consent is a very bad idea.
Sorry, your personal convenience is not used as a standard when making laws. You'll just have to stay away your little sibling. Creep.
Victimless sex crime? What does that even mean? Is it supposed to be a reference to child porn? Because if it is, news flash: Those kids are forced to do that through bullying and force for the tamer types and outright rape for the others.
No, I don't. Children aren't mature enough to give informed consent, so, as default, molestation is always seen as unwelcome. Grown-ups have a huge power-advantage over children, and can easily persuade them to "want" it.
It's not particularly controversial, it's more outdated, old-fashioned, incorrigibly stupid and gross.
It's already very hard to get a man convicted of rape even when there is evidence against him. We had sort of a Josef Fritzl-type case recently in Sweden, the verdict came this week. A doctor had built a sound-proof cell in his barn, kidnapped a woman and kept her there for a short time. He was convicted of kidnap and unlawful detention, but was acquitted of aggravated rape, as intent was lacking. (As if a woman gladly consents in that circumstance
) We had another case where the woman screamed so much that her throat swelled up, but the rapist just said he thought they were playing dom/sub. He got acquitted too.
All victimless sex is legal, as there is no crime committed.
Hey jcoldstream, do you know what I would like to see legalized? Tying you up to a pile of really dry wood and cow manure, coated in kerosine, and lighting the whole thing lit up on 110* summer day.
Where's PErverted Justice and the NSA when we need them?
As for jcoldstream, he doesn't longer deserves nor need any sexual appendage.
"I would like to see the age of consent lowered to 9 years."
No. Just no. 16 maybe, but 9?! Hell no!
"I'd like the law on rape to be tightened up so that it becomes harder to get a man convicted of rape when there is no evidence against him."
It's already harder to convict of rape than any other crime.
"I would like to see sex between close relatives living together legalised irrespective of the age of the partners."
What does living together have to do with it?
"I would also like all victimless sex crime to be legalised."
I truly hope you mean prostitution, but the rest of the post makes me think not.
And what would you have to say to my friend who, in her fifties, is still traumatised by having been molested by her father and brother when she was a child? Never mind; I'm sure it would be something offensive.

Maybe I've been on the site for too many years, but it's hard for me to read this and NOT think that this is actually some kind of dig at gay marriage proponents--you know, the equivalent of claiming that it's a slippery slope, and that the next thing you know we'll all be required to get gay-married to our turtles.
Of course, some MRAs think like this. Some people actually think like this. And I actually met a person in meatspace not three months ago who led out by railing about age-of-consent laws. This person drove a big rig, by the way. I find myself wondering if this is him.
"legalize child molestation"
UK: Operation Ore. Operation Yewtree. Scotland Yard having backup from GCHQ.
The Likes of Gary Glitter, Max Clifford & Rolf Harris now completely destroyed.
Also, the 2009 Coroners and Justice Act: even possessing artwork of a remotely paedophilic nature is illegal.
Good luck with that.
0.o crazy fucker.
Personally. I figure 16 is a good point for the age of consent. Cause most have gone through puberty, have at least a tiny ability to receive responsibility at that age and lets face it. most teens are going to be doing it anyway at that point regardless what the law says.
As for laws on rape. It's odd that people say 'fake rape accusations are the minority' when a major advocacy group keeps on championing fake rape accusers. You'd think law of averages they'd get actually champion someone who genuinely was raped but no. But actually I think the law for now is doing a good job so far in that when false accusations fly they dont stick in the court of law. its the court of public opinion that's too quick to treat claims unskeptically that's the problem.
"I would like to see the age of consent lowered to 9 years."
I hadn't even heard the word "sex" when I was 9.
"I'd like the law on rape to be tightened up so that it becomes harder to get a man convicted of rape when there is no evidence against him."
It's too hard to get actual rapists convicted as it is, this would only make it worse.

Well in some places, sex work is illegal but I'm guessing that's what this person meant.
@ darkevilme
"It's odd that people say 'fake rape accusations are the minority' when..."
You think more than 50% of rape victims are lying about being raped?
"its the court of public opinion that's too quick to treat claims unskeptically that's the problem"
Yes, because both historically and in modern times, people are so quick to be supportive and non-judgmental of rape victims. It's not like they bend over backwards to find reasons to blame the victim for being raped or anything.
@DJ:
I actually don't think its the majority. I just find it amusing that the feminist movement keeps popularizing false rape accusers to discredit itself.
At least on college campuses at any rate. but then, they have a narrative to maintain and skepticism and facts have no place there.
And I'd like to be able to choke you with my mind so I guess neither of us is getting what they want.
There's no such fucking thing as a "victimless" sex crime, it's why they're crimes to begin with. Your dismissal of the other party doesn't make it any less of a crime than your being a potentially admitted sex offender would make choking you out any more legal.
Confused?
