What is this, a new coordinated plan to use the word “ontological” among leftists? I’ve seen it more in the past month than any previous year

It must be their MSM’s word of the week. Kind of like what Sesame Street does for its kids. The lamestream media does for its mindless followers. They earn Commie Coins for using it online as much as possible. The new online social credit score like China has.

There's a psychological phenomenon, inattentional blindness, and another, confirmation bias, that may partly explain this. When you don't care about something, you rarely notice it. When you do, you may see it everywhere. Ontology is an important concept in philosophy, but personally, I often see it used by apologetics pushing nonsense as well. I'm not really sure without quotes, but I doubt that what you claim were leftist sentences using it were nonsense, though... But that too is problematic: I see a lot of people call "leftist" things that don't have to do with politics, just about reality.

Yeah, as @Croquemitaine said, usually when I see the word "Ontological" it's that fucking stupid "Ontological Argument for God" where by torturing logic, the user defines God into existence.

If the OP has seen it more recently, maybe some particularly silly type made a video and it's getting debunked? I dunno. The study of existence and discussions thereof are important, and with how the world is can certainly see an uptick in that sort if conversation.
