There were so many ways to handle this situation, and at every turn the worst possible decision has been made. Only way this ends in a win for the US at this point is if it goes nuclear.

NATO is a money making scam for the military industrial complex. It's purpose for existence ended over 30 years ago. But deep state bureaucracies never die, so it had to invent new enemies to justify its existence. Revealing. By ‘win,’ you clearly mean a decisive blow against the aggressor. But the whole point of Mutually Assured Destruction is that there are no winners.
The US won’t go nuclear except if Russia does, first. Then no one wins. But good Christ, Russia will lose if they do that.

if that were true, Putin would not have felt a need to threaten countries to NOT join NATO, would he? I mean, if all those tanks and planes across Europe only existed to suck money out of the West, he wouldn’t give two shits if another country decided to sacrifice their economy to Western contractors.
