Let it burn! The state governments will keep order in the streets and a shut down is for nonessential services anyway. Obama and the left went on tv and literally claimed planes would fall from the sky if we passed sequester. Guess what it didn't happen along with all the other doom and gloom that was forcast. The same thing will happen with the shut down. As an added bonus the Republican party held its own in the last shut down. They lost a few House seats (around 6 but kept the majority) and gained Senate seats (2).
So again let it burn and the sow the place with salt and rocks!

If I recall, the planes didn't fall out of the sky because of iterventions that kept air traffic controllers working where they were needed most. In many cases, sequestration either didn't happen at all or was minimal based on each agencies criticallity and budget. The impact sequestratin did have will kick the most radical of Republicans in the proverbial ass coming the next election.

I'd say that, along with Obama's re-election, the GOP has ordered Exterminatus - on itself .
Thought for the day: A small mind is easily filled with faith .
(PROTIP: The ultimate irony about "WH40K": The God-Emperor of Man expressly forbade the creation of a religion based on him. )

Like the military?
"Obama and the left went on tv and literally claimed planes would fall from the sky if we passed sequester."
McCornhole and the right went on TV and literaly demanded that the sequester be ignored in the case of the military.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the GOP actually LOSE two Senate seats? And regardless, the GOP has been trying strategy after strategy to try to make themselves relevant again. Because unlike their sycophants, they know they'll never win a national election if they don't change. As currently constituted, they're finished. They've made too many mistakes and their core demographic is shrinking. Like a candle, they flickered most violently just before going out.
@Zagadka:
needs some context. It's not at all clear what he is talking about "
He's talking about the sequester, where the conservatives refused to negotiate the budget, causing a shortage of funding. A "deal" was made, saying everything will be cut back by a certain % on a certain date in the future, the theory being when the military was cut back the conservatives would be motivated to make a deal rather than watch the military and the rest of the country flush down the toilet.
The more extreme cons like the OP said go ahead, this stuff the government spends money on is a waste anyway, we'll be better off without it (except for air traffic controllers so Republic congressmen can fly home for christmas and the militarys $600 toilet seats)
and everyone will become conservative because we fixed America problems by the use of political correctness.
Not that this makes any sense, but that's what conservatives believe.
Further context:
Some in the GOP - you can guess who - are demanding that Congress refuse to pass a budget unless the president withdraw Obamacare, his flagship piece of legislation. Without a budget, government shuts down. This is only a Tea Party position and doesn't, as yet, have mainstream Republican support; the rest of the party still thinks that crashing the economy to make a point is kind of dumb.
As an added bonus the Republican party held its own in the last shut down.
Which is why, in presiding over the shutdown, Newt Gingrich's experience in government made him such an obvious choice in the GOP primaries last year. Too bad he didn't make the ticket then.
The sequester has put a dent in many family budgets in much of MD and VA. When government workers and contractors are furloughed one day a week, that's 20% less pay, and it ripples throughout the whole economy. Not to mention the kids excluded from Head Start programs. Wonder what happens to them while mom works?

Please, PLEASE tell me you're being sarcastic here.
Otherwise, you're saying you want the whole Third Punic War treatment inflicted upon your own country .
