The correct answer concerning the evidence for God is precisely the same as it is for practically everything else in the historical record, which is to say the copious documentary evidence available. We can no more reasonably doubt the existence of God than we can doubt the existence of Alexander the Great, Abraham Lincoln, or any other human being who existed before the invention of audio and video recording and for whom there are physical artifacts that support the documentary evidence.
Can skeptics produce plausible explanations for why so much false documentary evidence of God exists if He does not? Sure. Just as I can plausibly explain that the myth of George Washington was invented in order to provide Americans with founding Romulus-style figure of reverence in order to compensate for their lack of kings and common history. I mean, there were no cherry trees in Virginia. And isn't it ludicrous to take literally the myth of Washington's rjection of the proffered crown when the story is a patently a straightforward imitation of the Roman dictator Cincinnatus.

...*SIGH*... Not this crap again. You people keep claiming there is "copious amounts of evidence" "everywhere around us" for the existence of your god. Yet for some reason, you people never, ever show even a single example of it.
I know it's a literary term, but still: SHOW, DON'T TELL! If you have undeniable evidence then SHOW us it instead of telling us about it.
I can keep telling you I have undeniable proof I'm a descendant of Zeus, but unless I actually show that proof, it means jack squat.
So would you please provide said "copious evidence"? *Crickets Chirping* ...Thought so.
Earlier in the article VD (or TB) also claims that he doesn't know who Eric Hovind is. This is somewhat unlikely because both Beale's and Hovind's fathers went to prison for tax-related offences and subscribed to similar veins of 'sovereign citizen' bullshit. This would have made Beale very aware of any subsequent cases.
If the author of an article shows at the outset that he is living in denial how much can the rest of the piece be worth? Beale, who likes to be a provocateur, may even have done this deliberately. I wouldn't count on it, though.

You convinced me.
Can christians produce plausible explanations for why so much false documentary evidence of Allah exists if He does not?
For starters, we have a decades-to-centuries-to-millennia gap in time between when something supposedly happened and when somebody wrote it down. Don't you think it possible that a teensy-weensy mistake or two might have crept in there?
What if I tell you that Harry Potter lived in a previous time, let's just say about 6000 years ago, and the book only got written and published in comparatively recent times. Hogwarts has disappeared and children have never found that fractional track at King's Cross Station, but I could tell you that I'm sure those magical spells were valid, if I could only manage to find a good wand. You would tell me I'm off my rocker, and you'd be right. That, Vox, is pretty much the position of you and your "evidence of god".

Atheist: "Could you show me any of this 'copious documentary evidence available' for God? No-one like you ever have."
VD: "The evidence for God is EVERYWHERE!!!! You just have to look with the eyes of a BELIEVER rather than the eyes of a SKEPTIC!"

Christian are liars with an agenda, they've ALWAYS been liars with an agenda.
"Can skeptics produce plausible explanations for why so much false documentary evidence of Santa Claus, Leprechauns and fairies exists if they does not?"
They pretend they don't see the corresponding logic when you apply an analog. I'd say this is why the Flying Spaghetti Monster was created if we all didn't know he was real.
Washington didn't do any MAGIC. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Ordinary claims require ordinary evidence.
Suppose we found records of a roman general, describing how he led men and conquered this tribe or that tribe and died of a fatal case of politics as many romans were prone to do.
Suppose we found correspondents between him and other generals.
I think we'd tentatively agree he really existed and really was a real person. not JUST because of the amount of evidence but because honestly everything described is believable.
Now suppose we found similar, except it described the general casting spells to destroy the enemies of rome, riding a dragon and conquering the moon.
Even if the amount of evidence was the same there is a reason why we would disbelieve in this instance.
I live in Virginia, not far from Ferry Farm, Washington's boyhood home. A wide range of European crops and trees were planted here in VA by 1630, and there is no reason to suppose that this desirable fruit wouldn't have been widely dispersed by 1700.

Well, there is the story of George throwing the dollar across the Potomac...
but a dollar used to go a lot farther in those days.
;-)
The Church of England can prove that Charles Darwin existed:

We can no more reasonably doubt the existence of God than we can doubt the existence of the Loch Ness Monster, unicorns, chimeras or any other being that supposedly existed before the invention of audio and video recordings.
Are you saying that your god doesn't exist any more, that he ceased to exist before we invented audio and video recordings?
What documentary evidence? There is only the Bible. There is more documentary evidence for the existence of Harry Potter. I have a replica of Hogwarts Castle, and Tonks' and McGonagall's wands!
Confused?
