And yes, it is Biden's gas problem. He, his administration, have been trying to do away with all use of oil in favor of "clean energy" since before Putin had the wet dream of invading Ukraine. And it's not like this is anything new, the government as a whole has been trying to get a strangle hold on energy production SINCE THE MID-1800's

And with Peter-Puffer Bootygauge's hilarious take on "Everyone just buy electric cars! LET THEM DRIVE ELECTRIC!!!", I have something to say about that:

My main means of transportation is an electric bike, or an e-bike for short, and it's exactly what it sounds like. Its top speed is 20mph, and the battery life can last between 15-35 miles, depending if I use just the battery or pedal-assist. It gets me from A to B well enough, and if something should go wrong, I got spare inner tubes for the wheels and a tool kit in my bag. But if something does go horribly wrong, I got a regular mountain bike as backup while my e-bike is getting serviced/fixed. The main reasons for my using an e-bike and not a car are thusly: 1, I find it cheaper overall, from fueling/powering the thing(gas vs battery powered), to warranty and protection, to maintenance and the like. Hell, the bike itself cost me only $1,500 before tax; 2, I do it for my health, in that I need to lose weight, and riding a bike, even a pedal-assisted one, is sure to do that better than just driving a car. Now there are trade offs for this, such as limited range(35 miles tops between recharging), refueling/recharging(it can take up to six hours to fully recharge the battery), and obviously it's not as fast as a regular car. But given what's happening recently, I don't feel too bad on using an, for all intents and purposes, an electric transportation.

Do I endorse what the administration is doing? Never in a million years. Like I said, I ride it for my health, not so I can get a warm fuzzy about "saving the Earth". And it's had an impact on those around me! I got people coming up to ask me "Hey, is that an electric bike? How much does it cost?" and I'm starting to see them around more, now that gas prices are shooting up and stations are closing
