It is a noble cause to try to use genetic research to find cures for various illnesses that plague mankind. Unfortunately, the cause of disease can't be found by looking under a microscope.
Because cancer and other forms of deformities are the results of the curse of sin, I believe that scientists are probably wasting their time in trying find cures. In the end, their efforts will either amount to nothing or they will invoke God's wrath.

O.O?
This is in the FAQ?
I am speechless.
This is from people who believe that their invisible friend in the sky will come and rescue them anytime now from the cruel and miserable world.
If we left anything up to these morons, nothing would get done. Another generation and they'll be extinct (Hey, I'm an optimist).
The causes of many diseases have already been found by looking through microscopes.
So, you're asserting that Joseph Mengela lived a long, relatively healthy life because he was free from sin and little Susie down the block died of cancer at age 6 because she was horrifyingly sinful?
If it's all up to God, next time you get seriously ill, sit at home and do twiddle your thumbs as any of your efforts will amount to nothing.

High school biology students disagree.

And that means we shouldn't try...why, exactly?
James 5:14-15 (New American Standard Bible)
Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
This is why there is a measurable difference between the rate of sickness of those who pray and those who don't.
What's that? There isn't? Somebody is lying. I feel so disillusioned!
Oh, then you don't mind abstaining from using any modern medicine. No Tylenol, no penicillin, no x-rays to even find out if you have caner... Feel free to use a little prayer to cure a heart attack.
Since, in the past, people died of flu, syphillis, chickenpox, smallpox and even wounds and we don't die any longer, I think that God is laughing at people like you.
sorry for blak comment...accicenlt pushes enter and edit seems to be messed up again. Anyway, has this person been completely sheltered from medical advancements as of late!? Most cancers can be cured now, shit, even HIV is laregely treatable. Though the OP may not have any hope for what lays under the microscope, real science previals and helps people where his religon would damn them.
Because, of course, we haven't found cures for some forms of cancer at all. Noooo... if we had done that, God would have smited us.
Papabear: <<So, you're asserting that Joseph Mengele lived a long, relatively healthy life because he was free from sin and little Susie down the block died of cancer at age 6 because she was horrifyingly sinful?>>
Fundies must worship a god who graduated from the Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy.
So lets just abandon study that has turned up cures for OTHER diseases that were attributed to sin, have improved quality of life for sufferers, and have provided treatments that at least allow a person to live.
Seriously, what is up with these people?!
Yep, that's why we so often find scientists' corpses draped over their lab bench, killed by freakish indoor lightning strikes.
PS S/He's onto us. We can let them know we have found the "sin gene", or our atheistic conspiracy will just fall apart.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
