You get a weakened version of the virus that causes sickness. This allows your body to kill that off but also know the means of fighting it off should it come into contact with you. That is the general science. The healthcare system is something completely else.
Let me guess: Your education was "Christian homeschooling"? Because secular education at least touches on how white blood cells and the immune system works, which is integral to how immunization works. And how a healthcare system works has nothing to do with how vaccination works, unless you're trying to slander the competence of those administer the vaccines which it sounds like you're trying to do.
