I have seen several pieces recently about why men in particular stopped going to Mass since the late 1960s.

I have some questions! How did you arrive at this not even wrong answer? Was there no sodomy in Catholic clergy before 1950? What proof do you have of said infiltration? Are women not repulsed, "naturally and rightly" by homosexualism, male in particular? Do your musings apply only to Roman Church or to Catholicism in general? Exactly what percentage of Catholic priests are homosexuals and where did you get this figure? Have you considered any other answers or did you just jump headlong into conclusions? And, finally, just what drugs DO you take, Ann? Because I want some - it must be strong stuff.

In interesting that she mentions WW2, because American and European churchs were both reporting distress that returning soldiers were not returning to church. It by no means was only Catholic churchs and the traditional badgering and getting families to guilt trip them wasn't working.

I have a theory, although admittedly I don't have the data to prove it. I think men with a strong hetero sex drive would be reluctant to get into a profession that enforces (or pretends to enforce) celibacy. Homosexuals who try to deny it out of religion-induced guild might think that celibacy would be the best way to fight their urges, albeit a frequently unsuccessful way.
In other words, I might agree with the writer about the result, although I find the language vile and the cause of that result to be an example of insane conspiracy paranoia.

Also, a lot of the abuse in Catholicism predates the 1960s. The case of the Galway graves is a particularly harrowing one, and that cannot be palmed off onto homosexuality like you'd attempted to do with the institutionalised pedophilia.

I would say there are FEWER "sodomite" men in priesthood now, when priests are allowed to marry, than before, when they were supposed to be celibate their whole life.
