Where did the stuff that the sun is made of come from? The "Big Bang"? Where did that stuff come from? point to anything and ask..." where did that come from" and then ask where your answer came from.
God made that sun as He made every sun.

So where did your God come from?
Entities apparently can exist without initial cause, otherwise we wouldn't be here. Involving a supernatural force in this paradox does not get us any closer to an answer.
point to anything and ask..." where did that come from"...
And if you're a Creationist, abdicate any and all critical thought and repeat the mantra-like answers programmed into you by your pastors.
Scientists don't yet have it all figured out. Therefore, Goddidit, and not just any old god, but my God. The sun, moon, and stars really are lights set in the firmament, close enough that a dragon's tail can knock them out of the sky. Praise!

Well, current theories by cosmologists & theoretical physicists (using 11-Dimensional mathematics) posit that there are an infinite number of alternate dimensions, and that these dimensions (what they refer to as 'Membranes'; these can be any shape. Spherical, hemispherical, cubical, even like Mobius strips) constantly collide. And one such collision is what created the initial spark (before Planck Time) that started the Big Bang that formed our universe. And our sun was formed when large clouds of gas came together from the energy given out by nearby supernovae. These clouds collapsed in on themselves, then gravity forced the hydrogen & helium that was compressed therein to start a nuclear reaction at it's core. Thus you get a Sun like that at the centre of our solar system.
You can find out all sorts of useful information from astronomy & biology books, even up to how Homo Sapiens came to be, with all sorts of diagrams, formulae & equations to prove what they say is FACT.
"God made that sun as He made every sun."
O RLY? See above. And who or what made God? Just as everything has a beginning, and we humans have parents, he had to come from somewhere.
So an infinitely complex, immortal intelligence can exist spontaneously but the materials which make up the universe, which are comparatively simple, can't.
'Kay.
Nope. Sorry, it was aliens. That makes WAY more sense. Aliens every time.
How does a toaster work? Aliens.
Or my pet theory is that everything collapsed into a black hole, until it became so dense that it exploded in the big bang and started expanding again. Maybe in a billion years or so, we'll start contracting again.
Not saying I'm right, but it's the theory that makes the most sense to me.
In simple terms, the law of conservation of mass/energy says matter cannot be destroyed or created. Thus, if matter cannot be created it was always there, almost infinitely condensed.
Holy shit, really? "Stuff that the sun is made of"? Is it that hard to say helium ? Where did your brain come from? Oh wait, that's right, you don't have one. I guess we don't need an answer for that one, then. We'll just have to pick something else. And by the way, they're called stars .
you see, goddidit doesn't answer anything. nor does the fact we don't know something makes your god necessary (I'm quite sure astrophysicists know where most stuff came from but still)
repeat nice and slowly: 'I do not know'
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
