WHOPPING, considering that homosexuals just make up about 2 percent of the population. And what is not given is that other research indicates that even so-called hetero contact HIV is really homosexual in origin. It's just that infected, closeted bisexuals get the disease from other homosexuals, then sleep with unsuspecting Straight females.

The newest data is actually 63% and 75%, collected in 2010. Still, woman-on-woman sex has a low risk of spreading HIV, which I think is interesting. So much for the "gay disease!"
If homosexuals had been accepted and allowed to be “out” at the time before the HIV epidemic started, it might not have become an epidemic. It was forcing them to hide, to fake a straight marriage, to resort to short encounters with strangers, that caused the disease to spread so much. If same-sex marriage had been legal then, HIV might just be a little known STD now.
How many new HIV infections are there now? And, what is the time frame; per year, per month, per decade? Data collected in 2010 is not that new, are they?
You do know that lesbians count as homosexuals too, right?
What about the infected closeted bisexual women, who get it from other heterosexuals, then sleep with unsuspecting lesbian females? Lesbians have the lowest rate of STDs, if you don’t count asexuals, I guess.
I'm betting the rates of infection for gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydia are much higher among heterosexuals than homosexuals. And I'm betting that HPV is probably nonexistent among homosexuals.
The simple fact is there is no "gay disease" or "straight disease." There are just some diseases which spread easier with certain kinds of sexual contact.
Maybe in the USA, but the USA isn't the world.
There's more HIV in Africa, and it's mostly heterosexual over there.

There's nothing wrong with calling everybody out, gay and otherwise, to take more responsibility to avoid infection, but there are plenty of other scenarios in which an unsuspecting spouse can end up infected. For example, your straight, family values-voting Republican husbands who go to female prostitutes and end up taking HIV home to the wife.

Yes, in North America, HIV is endemic at much higher rates among men who have sex with men than among women, or men who only have sex with women. It's endemic at far and away the lowest rate among women who only have sex with women. Did you have a point? Because area-specific disease spread patterns are interesting, but they're not grounds for moral judgement on other people's sex lives.
