Your veterans deserve better than you, Ghost. You not only mock their lives and their sacrifices, but you mock their fight when you basically state you think America fought on the wrong side.
You like the idea of your veterans, the people themselves - like the rest of the people of America - are worthless to you if they don't fit your idea of what America should be. You're not a patriot you're an idiot waving a flag as a cudgel at your countrymen and you'd betray them all in a heartbeat.
These are the true politics of entitlement. Not social security, not health care, not civil rights... It's this shit. This attitude that you've got dibs on the country and nobody else has that same right to liberty, industry, or even life unless you give them permission. And you don't give them your blessings then just by existing you believe they are taking something from you even if they do more with their lives and give more of themselves for their country and community than you ever will.

That's my biggest problem with these assholes. Their behavior is not only incredibly self-destructive, but they're aware of it to enough of a degree to want to drag everybody else down with them out of sheer spite. Not just their likeminded friends, not just their own country, but the entire world as well. We're all feeling the repercussions of their selfish, close-minded deeds.
And honestly, we're luckly they remain just confined to earth. 'Cause it wouldn't surprise me if they want to drag the totality of existence down the drain with them. I swear, if god turns out to be real and embodies liberal virtues, they'd renounce their faith and try to kill god too.

I didn't serve in the hopes that I could somehow make America more like me. I mean, I wanted to protect your freedoms, just as much as theirs.
And I don't feel a particular NEED to be thanked. I mean, seriously, if we do have a country where a large part of the population feels completely untouched by war and warfare...

Yeah, 'Happy' VD is okay. Veteran's day is technically for the living. People that have seen the elephant and come home. I think it's okay to hope they're happy, to wish them happiness.
Memorial Day is for the dead. But we could also hope that we share happy lives that they purchased with their blood.
