"Sen. Chris Buttars wants Utah's Legislature to declare its opposition to the "war on Christmas.""
War on Christmas? Please. Just yesterday I drove past a city hall with a big ass nativity scene on the lawn. Every damned place I look either outright says "Christmas" on the signs or it's obviously implied to anyone with two brain cells to rub together that "Holidays" is code word for "Christmas" since all you see are Christmas decorations and things associated directly and only with Christmas.
"The West Jordan Republican is sponsoring a resolution encouraging retailers to embrace Christmas in their promotions rather than the generic "holidays.""
"Encouraging" how, exactly?
""It would encourage the use of 'Merry Christmas,'" Buttars said of the non-binding statement that is still being drafted. "I'm sick of the Christmas wars -- we're a Christian nation and ought to use the word.""
I wonder if I can find your email address so that I can send you a copy of the Treaty of Tripoli and maybe a selection of writings from the Founding Fathers, you ignorant excuse for a waste of oxygen. I don't know about everyone else but I expect elected officials to actually know something of both the history and workings of our government.
"Several fellow lawmakers he wouldn't yet name support his effort, added Buttars, who has a long history of championing the socially conservative agenda of the Utah Eagle Forum."
Yeah, they support you but you can't mention them. Sure. Real convincing.
