So am I to just take the word of a retired businessman on matters of science? Or should I listen to people who have made said science their life's work? Of course "god" forbid I actually try to learn this science and come to my own conclusion, after all I've had this christian guy tell me what science I should or should not accept.

If you wish to live in ignorance then do so, but your ignorance doesn't get to decide what is or is not science, or the conclusion that the scientific community comes to. Science answer questions through observation and experimentation, not by biblical or theological fiat.

And they are what? can you them? can you name ten of them? can you even name one of those ways that conforms to the scientific method and is considered accepted science?

Political conservatism, religion, and creationism are one in the same, evolutionary theory is apolitical, science is apolitical, they are not left or right issues and neither is religion and the fact that you seem to think they are just goes to show that you, like the rest of the religious right, place ideological purity above everything else, including your religion.

No, they won't let you in to a science classroom because you don't belong there. Creationism and ID have no science to them, they don't preform any experiments, they have no theories that can be tested, the only thing they do is attack accepted science. That doesn't make something science, nor does it mean that if evolutionary theory was proved to be wrong that creationism would therefore be right. It's simply not an either/or issue.

There is no "atheist's movement", and neither Darwin nor evolutionary theory have anything to do with atheism. Atheism was around long before Darwin or the ToE and the are atheists who don't accept evolution, just as there are theists who do, including the majority of christians.

Please show me an atheist who claims that they are their own "god" because the only people I've ever heard say that were christians, and a person who believed such a thing would by definition not be an atheist since atheism is a lack of belief in a god or gods.
