Atheism is a religion! They look at the entire universe and still BELIEVE that there is no God.

See, the problem Eric is having (Aside from continuing the family business of being a lying conman), is that "atheism" isn't a united system. The more common sort of system in the US and Europe that commonly butts heads with these religious twits, for example, would be a more materialism that is atheistic. But in addition to not being a unified group, that's not the whole of atheism. Just like Christianity composed of Eastern Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant flavors, there are different types of atheism, with some actually being religions, some not. Buddhism is the most famous athiest religion, though there others.
Imagine someone saying "monotheism" or "polytheism" is A religion. Now think of why that's wrong, and then realize how replacing the mono- or poly- with a- works.
Universe? All we need is to look no further than the likes of you do.
The only thing the prosecutors in Kitzmiller vs. Dover did wrong was to not wheel into the courtroom this:

…then say to the defence ‘Your call’.
We demand to be proved wrong.
So why can’t you, Eric? As the defence in that case couldn’t - and can’t to this day - ergo…!
…oh, and if we’re a ‘religion’, are you prepared to say that yours isn’t one, but ‘A Personal Relationship With Jesus’? Consider your answer very carefully. Why?
The IRS would like a word with you if your answer is the only one possible: just ask your dad about that.
“Atheism is a religion!”
So we get tax breaks?
Think carefully, Dumbass.
Are you ‘all in’ on this concept, or are you just name-calling?
“They look at the entire universe and still BELIEVE that there is no God”
There are people who watched M*A*S*H and believed they were real doctors.
Having a belief, right or wrong, is not what makes a ‘religion.’

Slight correction, Buddhism isn’t precisely an atheistic religion, but more a religion (more often thought and described as a philosophy of life) that doesn’t concern itself with theism. Many Buddhists are atheists, many are polytheists, few if any are monotheists. Also very are particularly concerned with anyone’s views on theism, whether their own or others, short of how those views affect they way people act around them.
There are, of course, exceptions to all of this. Suffice to say, Buddhism and claimants of it are not without fault without fault in history. Even pretty recent history.

Well, he did get to grow up with an excellent teacher.
You really believe that we're able to look at the whole universe? Also, dismissing something because of the lack of evidence for it is not denial or belief, just the lack of belief. Not falling for boogeyman stories. You're failing criticial thinking 101.
Atheism is a religion! They look at the entire universe and still BELIEVE that there is no God.
I haven’t looked at the entire universe and neither have you, nor has anyone else. Also, of course, atheism is the lack of belief in a god or gods, which is not quite the same thing as “believing there is no god” necessarily…but I guess I shouldn’t expect a Hovind to know or care about that distinction.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
