[A fundies well thought out and reasonable take on illegal immigration. Why he would bother with the trial is beyond me.]
every senator who voted for the amnesty bill should be stripped of thier power and wealth, thrown into jail, tried for treason, convicted and sentenced to death. Illegals should be told to leave and we should levy steep fines against corporations who hire them. they should be made to pay for all medical treatment and their children born here should not have legal status either or education in public schools. there should be no sanctuary laws protecting them.

Why is it these morons can't see that the only reason they themselves are "legal" to be here is because their ancestors rounded up or killed off all the inhabitants that were here when they arrived?
I say that we enact a law so that when some idiot shoots his mouth off, as our pal Mark here did, a geneological background check is done on said individual and if he's not a good portion Native American he's deported immediately to the country that the majority of his family came from. Let's see how they'd like that.

Right! How dare democratically elected leaders vote against the whims of some schlub?! We need a good dictator; bring back the kings with "divine right" to rule! Sure, there was a lot of death and torture, and most people lived to the age of 40 if that, and had to struggle to survive, but at least there were no pesky democratically elected leaders!
Illegals should be told to leave...
Really? That would leave the country pretty empty. Keep in mind; if your ancestors were part of the original European colonies, they were illegal immigrants. If they came to the illegitimate country that these colonists set up on stolen land, they were illegal immigrants. The only legal inhabitants of this country are the native Americans (because they were here first) and blacks whose ancestors came on slave ships (because they came against their will.)
...and we should levy steep fines against corporations who hire them.
...for below minimum wage. There, I finished it for you.

Whoa, that was a lot of ranting! Repeat that again.

OK, then. Goodbye! Unless you're a native American or the descendant of blacks on a slave ship, you're now obligated to leave the country, lest ye be a hypocrite.
To be fair, I don't think the argument about the old European immigrants helps the problem here. Are you suggesting we should all leave? The immense cost of illegal immigration is a serious concern--the cost to current Americans and to the immigrants themselves, who are severely taken advantage of and live beneath most standards we would expect for legal residents. It just needs to be dealt with by people who can be honest about it and have the brainpower to grasp its complexities, unlike our Mr. Pool here.
<<<Right, so you're only a legal citizen you're a descendant of someone who arrived and stole the land at gunpoint and then bit the hand that fed them?>>>
On that note, try to translate his rant into something similar, as if said by a 17C indian. They were pretty liberal.
Unchecked immigration is noble but not without concern: Just ask an Indian, or a Palestinian for that matter.
***Devil's advocate disclaimer***
Actually, I'd agree with a little bit of this post. First, I agree with levying steep fines against corporations who hire illegal immigrants, as they do so merely to circumvent paying legally mandated wages and taxes.
Second, I agree that senators should be tried for treason, but not just the ones who voted for the amnesty bill. I think all of the legislative and executive branches of the current federal government should be tried for treason. If given a fair trial, I think an awful lot of them would (and should) be found guilty.
All right, that really had nothing to do with this post. I just felt like expressing my outrage over the current U.S. government (and I don't limit that to bush & co)
Confused?
