You know, there are blacks and other minorities who BUY their houses. Like many whites do. Most blacks and other minorities actually work for a living. Not all of them need the government to "give" them homes.

Nobody is saying that there aren't poor whites out there. Of course there are. It's just that ON AVERAGE, blacks and other minorities have worse housing, worse employment rates, and face deeper discrimination than poor whites do.

That's part of what led to the Civil Rights Movement, the fact that for the first time, army units were integrated and people started to appreciate the many sacrifices that African-Americans had made.

How the heck do you know? And the soldiers who fought in WWII fought for their COUNTRY. Their country, which did include Hispanics and blacks and Native Americans and Asians and so on and so forth. You can delve into history conspiracies all you want about what the real cause for the U.S. involvement in WWII was, but the fact of the matter is, the soldiers were fighting for AMERICANS' rights. And no matter what you may tell yourself, African-Americans and Hispanic-Americans ARE Americans.

Considering that during the immigration wave in the late 19th-early 20th century, ITALIANS were seen as free-loading immigrants (learn how to spell it right, moron) and animals. I cannot tell you how disgusted I was when I read an anti-immigrant propaganda piece in AP American history class, that basically described Eastern and Southern European immigrants (that included Italians, mind you) as dirty, illiterate, uneducated, lawless, wild, corrupt, and unfit to have in America.
