But seriously though, when you portray your own “benevolent” Deity in such a way that even your very own Devil looks like the better person, you’re doing something very wrong…

…Look, my own philosophical and theological hypotheses of a potential “supreme being” (from the view of an atheist) aside, what is so… fulfilling about portraying your own almighty deity as a capricious, murderous, sadistic, abusive, EVIL parent figure (who treats humans as a bully does with ants and a magnifying glass) anyway? Even the most diehard misanthrope and nihilist would probably think that you should tone it down a bit.

I mean, what is even the point of consciously crafting such a negative worldview for yourself?

A negative worldview suggests that their life up to now has been pretty awful, so they just project their expectations onto their deity.

Also, if God is a monster, there's no point in changing anything. They can only try to curry favor from the heavenly abuser by hurting others the way they were hurt.
