Planetary orbits are the idea that planets go round the sun.
Yet this phenomenum has never been observed. Psalm 93 and Joshua 10 make clear that this is not the case, but any scientist who subscribes to the Biblical view is deemed to be some sort of nutcase.
Scientists will not be happy until they have silenced every born-again Christian on this earth. Ultimately, (and as this nonsense in Geneva is showing), their sense of self-importance will be their own undoing. Playing God is a dangerous game.

Garvan, what are you smoking? Eden, he's serious.

Wow, in this case he is almost as mad as the flat earthers. But at least he is one of the fundamentalists who know the bible good enough to know that our current cosmological model is in conflict with the bible. He only fails in drawing the right conclusions from this :D
Garvan Ellison isn't a Poe, please, please will people stop yelling Poe everytime they see something so stupid posted that they can't themselves believe it.
He posts a lot on BBC religion and most of his views are absolutley retarded and ridiculous.
In short people, yes, he really is stupid enough to say that planetary orbits have never been observed and ironic enough to put Dr before his name.
He isn't a Poe, stop yelling Poe for every bloody post we get I'm utterly sick of hearing it.
Not been observed?!? ROFLMFAO!!!!
There is stupid,
Then there is criminally stupid,
Then there are fundtards.
OK, forget the astronomy failure and focus on his second statement: the presumption that science's main goal is to destroy religion, specifically Christianity. Why don't these people ever get that science doesn't care about religion because it's untestable and therefore outside of the scope?! Just because science is able to better explain our reality does not mean it's purposefully trying to eliminate religion. The "nonsense" in Geneva (LHC at CERN) is an experiment, nothing more nothing less. There are no divine or supernatural implications, be it good or bad. They are not "playing God" but merely using their curious nature to better understand how nature works. Period.
Kidding, right?
Here's the thing. Scientists have no agenda, I repeat, no agenda, to silence anyone. The only agenda we have is to observe and report on reality. If those conclusions do not fit with your world view then prove them wrong. Prove them wrong WITHOUT the bible.
What kind of name is Garvan anyway?
@Garvan Ellison
Try looking up.
The Bible also says those of strong enough faith can walk on liquids. C'mon over, Garvan, and show me both your great faith and the veracity of the Bible. They've got a nice mostly-liquid surface waiting for you down at the local sewage treatment plant.
"Playing God is a dangerous game."
Oh, come on. It can't be any more dangerous than playing lawn darts, can it?
"Playing God is a dangerous game."
Then quit pretending that you can speak for him.
EDIT TO ADD: The current fundometer reading is 4.86. How in the heck could anyone not vote a solid 5 on this one?

Yet this phenomenum has never been observed. Psalm 93 and Joshua 10 make clear that this is not the case, but any scientist person who subscribes to the Biblical view is deemed to be some sort of nutcase, because, well, they are.
"Psalm 93 and Joshua 10 make clear that this is not the case, but any scientist who subscribes to the Biblical view is deemed to be some sort of nutcase."
Maybe because the Bible doesn't provide any tangible evidence?
Sadly for you, it has been observed. Most notably by the behaviour of space probes whose trajectories are conditional on the positions of the planets and their gravitational fields, and by the detailed observations of astronomers whose measurements have "proved" this theory, since the 18th century.
Geocentrism is passe, Garvan. What's next? Flat earth? Levitation? The evils of immunisation? Demon possession? Satanic ritual abuse of infants? The Nebraska "man"? Keep up the BS garvan, I'm on to you.
Palifox, sorry to say that garvan has done Flat earth and Demon possession.
The evils of immunisation and Satanic ritual abuse of infants will soon follow I am sure.
Wow, I can't believe I'm reading this. This sort of ignorance should be punishable by law, or some other appropriate form of punishment. This level of stupid is mind boggling to rational creatures, and almost makes me rethink evolution (although I would not accept Christianity). How can anyone be this fucking stupid? This phenonenon has never been observed? What about all those pictures from Hubble and other telescopes? What about all the space missions? Are you seriously suggesting that the universe revolves around the earth? What a fucking moron.
Complete ignorance or blatant lies. And scientists don't silence you, they ignore you, although it's possible that some may also criticize your claims if they notice them and care. The myths you claim to supersede scientific knowledge are old human myths. Those ancient authors were not even trying to do science... An amateur astronomist can actually confirm from Earth, without special equipment, what you claim has never been observed.
Confused?
