Rap music is dead 📉
Scroll through the Top 100, and it’s nearly impossible to find a rap song. A massive stadium rap concert next month has only sold 160 tickets. That’s not a typo. Ludacris, T.I., Rick Ross, and BigXthePlug booked a stadium in Louisville, and it looks abandoned. 20,000 tickets left unsold.
Ever since USAID got defunded, rap’s popularity has completely vanished. It used to be most of the Hot 100— Now it’s nonexistent.
Meanwhile, country music is dominating and selling out arenas across the country. Did the CIA really run the rap game?

Assuming that all this (aside from maybe the CIA thing) is true, it goes beyond normal “correlation is not causation” and taking two unrelated things which happen to be true during a narrow snapshot of time and declaring that one caused the other, as a form of bias affirmation. Did you check whether Rap happened to drop off the charts right after USAID was defunded, or has it been in decline for years already? If the first is true, then we’re back to regular “correlation is not causation”. I’m hearing elsewhere that the second is true, in which case this is additionally a non-sequitur, at minimum.

Rap was dead since 2010s, you’ve raised a generation of authority following sissies in the yankland and so the music has died accordingly.

This looks like you took a Creationist boast about the End of Evolutionary Theory and very, very slightly edited it to something else that you don’t like.

I mean, it’s a joke in Blues Brothers, but where I grew up, I sat through serious arguments about whether a particular performer, or a certain song, was Country OR Western. What difference does it make? Buy what you want to listen to, DON’T support the artists you don’t want to listen to. Labels are for the talking heads to sound pompous with.

Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if the CIA were doing that exact thing but only now and with country. You know, to make the red hats feel like everyone agrees with them.

And this important why? serious why?? Music tastes do change over time, especially popular music trends
