…oh, and that laptop: ‘dying’, you say? Not so many years ago, the US Government - especially the Department of Defence - had a contract with Dell to supply such with laptops: their D630s were used by the armed forces, especially in the field due to being tough & reliable. I should know, as I have one which came with a sticker on the HD (erased, of course) which said ‘Property of US Department of Defence’: with my upgrading the CPU to a Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz one (the most powerful this model can take), RAM maxed out at 8 Gb and a 2Tb SSD (with 2Tb HD via an optical drive bay adapter) and the screen replaced with a 1440x900 one, I call it my ‘Old Faithful’ as it’s never gone wrong on me. After that, laptops by Hewlett-Packard: they’re reliable and just as upgradeable as Dell’s.
