Before a certain time, that which didn’t reflect the Palace of Westminster was known as ‘The Great Stink’, but as a result of huge public works with pumping stations & sewage treatment facilities, a vast network of outflow tunnels which - as they were built so wide at that time in the 19th Century - even during torrential rain & heavy toilet usage, are so wide that the water levels never get to beyond halfway up the tunnel walls, they were planned with the future in mind: even with the expansion of London, that the river Thames is now so clean fish thrive in it. That certainly reflects Parliament today, and not just visually.
