Congratulations to the Queensland police for keeping an open mind and awaiting proper evidence, including the possibility that Rowan Baxter might have been “driven too far.” But note the misplaced outrage. How dare police deviate from the feminist script of seeking excuses...

She's batty, alright.

I’ve only very rarely heard of any hesitation to condemn a woman for stabbing her partner to death. It usually follows finding out her partner really did need a stabbing. I’ve never once heard of cops seeking excuses or explanations for a woman killed her kids, except insofar as making sure they have a solid case to lock her up for life.

And if anyone says Susan Smith, she received some hesitation when there was a chance her kids really were kidnapped. And oh, the police were looking into her several days before they spoke out about investigating her, in fact within hours of the report, because it became quickly apparent her story did not add up.

Unfortunately, there are always assholes besides police who do look for excuses and explanations for everything to support the idea that no one commits an evil act unless the Devil is involved, all the while talking about how naturally evil people are without God. And as we’ve seen with Hephzibah House posts, denying anyone associating themselves with God are capable of anything even as evil as jaywalking.

I remember the Andrea Yates case, where she really did snap; Rusty should have been in a cell of his own, and not founding a second family.

People were calling for Yates' head on a platter.

Baxter's crime is no less heinous. But he wasn't driven mad. He was merely angry. There is a difference. He torched his children in an act of spousal revenge.

Some men tend to take wife and children with them in a suicide. That’s men who see wife and children as little more than extensions of himself, or as his property.
Burning someone alive sounds more like hatred of the family, though, than “compassion” murder-suicide.

Men in general are more violent than women in general. It seems to take longer for a woman in general to be “driven too far” than for a man in general.
There are of course men who’d never turn to violence, and women who attack at the slightest provocation.

Bettina, you are a Ms Quisling, a traitor to other women.
She has been widely criticised here, for her comments on the Baxter/Clarke case, and also for an interview she gave with a convicted pedophile teacher, blaming his victim, a 15 year old schoolgirl. There are calls, at the moment, for her to be stripped of her Order of Australia - which I hope she is.
