I'm telling you, when Jesus returns to Earth news media will propagandize this event and aliens attacking Earth. People will be tricked into fighting Jesus and his angels.

Or, when aliens really attack the Earth, a whole bunch of pastors will go on TV and say it’s either
1) Jesus’ return, the government’s lying to you and blocking him
2) It’s Satan, the government’s lying to you and covering for him
…and superstitious morons will hinder the alien defense the way they hindered the pandemic response.

The Bible promises that the righteous will go up to Heaven, while the fuckheads will die. I think that’ll sort out any ‘tricks’ pretty quickly, no?

You’ve never heard of SETI??
Frankly at this point I WISH benevolent aliens would “invade” and start fixing some of our myriad problems for us (f*ck the Prime Directive). And even if they wouldn’t outright “invade”, I wouldn’t mind being “abducted” (aka Isekai’d) from this backwards mudball either. Preferably by some pleasure-seeking space babes…

I understand you all too well, professor!
God of deception... or... father of deception? Human insanity?
In any case, some people have been waiting for it for 2000 years, believing it would happen in their lifetime. As for the UFO claim, why not, people tend to link ideas from their current culture with old intangible things, like in the case of some depicted "visions". Some also see them in medieval paintings depicting something else. Some see them in cloud shapes, in camera light reflections, etc.
Even if this is all funny nonsense, if you really believe in these conspiracy theories and apocalypticism, it's not very healthy, especially if it distresses you.
Honestly, I'm waiting for, if it happens, the moment of "first contact." Just to see the world's news agencies literally shit themselves, for one thing, lol
Just imagine the headline...."We Are Not Alone."

I’m more curious to see how humanity as a whole will react and change to the revelation alone. I mean, I know there will be people all across the spectrum showing any and all reactions possible, but what would be the majority, I wonder? And how many fanatics would try to attack the aliens for daring to exist outside of their doctrines?
And which governments would get the honor of meeting the alien representatives? Initially, I would have thought the USA, but said nation is in no way stable and united enough right now(*). China and Russia, well, you’d understand why that would be off the table. Honestly, I’m thinking more of France or the UK at this point. Idk…
And should it all go peacefully, how would the integration of alien knowledge and technology happen? How quickly would we be able to intermingle? How long will it take for our culture to adapt, and how will it adapt?
So many questions…
And that’s all assuming we’ll contact something benevolent like the UFP or the Citadel Council. Who knows what’ll happen should we encounter the likes of the Galactic Empire or the Covenant instead!
(*)Though I should be happy it’s not the Orange Clown’s USA anymore. He might’ve insulted the delegates, or attacked them, or even tried to grab them by their equivalent of a p***y…

At the same time it's so unlikely that we don't really have to care or prepare for it... It's estimated that since life developed here it's likely that it also did elsewhere in the huge universe. Since we haven't discovered any other yet, it's more difficult to estimate how many of those there may be or even more difficult how many of them are likely to develop intelligence and technology. Even humans have a long history versus their technology, even if theoretically our brain was similar 300k years ago. Then 300k is nothing on the scale of life on Earth itself, yet we already see potential challenges to our own survival. Also estimated is that any other life, if it exists, is likely so far away that two civilizations may never have the opportunity to meet (anthropic principle, etc). And in science fiction we imagine devices that may allow faster than light travel, but...
So if we ever meet something alien, it'd probably be more plausible to meet some old technology, perhaps AI, built by possibly then-extinct "people"...

Perhaps… But until that day comes, it remains fun to speculate :).
Absolutely, just adding this to make sure you know that I was not criticizing your post, more participating in the conversation and speculation. I think that everything was good to put the original poster's claims in context.
