There are a bunch of men on /r/TwoXChromosomes whining about how social media is supporting hate speech now, associating it with Project 2025 and a far right movement to oppress anyone who isn't a white Christian man.

They're actually comparing women being allowed to disagree with them to Nazism. Just shameless.

Almost every comment in there under this topic is made by a man. At least there is one man there who recognizes it was a mistake to fight for men in women's sports since that turned the public against them.

The left never had anything to do with any of this. Gender identity is a RIGHT-WING concept: it entrenches sexism and homophobia and it is woowoo as hell. Marx knew what a woman is.

It's maddening to me because I cannot get otherwise well-meaning people off this "the left got us into this mess" bullshit. It's going to get leftists assaulted or worse. I'm surprised it's not happening already.

I know a leftist Canadian politician who calls himself an "old-growth leftist" but really, he's just a leftist, and I'm furious that we got dragged into this when we were the ones being canceled in the first place for not caving in to the gender madness.

When I read about Zuck’s newest suck-up move, you know what I did?
I did not scream. Or cry. Or shake, whether literally or metaphorically.
I did… nothing.

These sorts of things, like what Zuckerberg and company did? They just leave me numb.
They are expected these days. Just another one in many, many moves that target us or leave us defenseless in so many ways.
It’s just the way things are, and they will only get even worse. And realistically there’s nothing I can do about it.

So I just take note of the newest worsening, and move on with my day.

You know, it’s funny that you think that sexism, homophobia and woo are intrinsically right-wing concepts and ideas. Historically, parts of the left — particularly the Marxist-Leninists — have in many ways and in many times been socially conservative as fuck, with just some bright outliers (and a lot of mere token gestures of social progressivism that would often get overturned soon, like when Lenin’s USSR briefly legalized homosexuality, only for Stalin to ban it again and basically everyone in the communist world follow Stalin’s example).

Same with sexism. Yes, there was some genuine progress in women’s rights and liberation in communist countries, but it was halting and limited.

Oh, also, the reason the right is not assaulting you is because many of them see you as the ally and comrade that you are. Rather than as a leftist, they see you as a gender-critter first (as they should). They see your transphobia as a common cause, and they see your usefulness for the ongoing successful rebranding of conservatism as a women-friendly ideology.
