What the LGBT community is really demanding is the same respectability for their sexual activity that straights seem to enjoy. Well, sorry to bust your balloon, but the truth is that we straights enjoy respect because of the societal responsibility of transmitting life to the next generation that we take on, not because of the sexual activity that we partake in.

"because of the societal responsibility of transmitting life to the next generation that we take on"
I know plenty of straight married couples that chose not to have kids, and plenty of straight married couples of which one of the two is or both are sterile.
Try thinking next time.
There are other 'societal responsibilities', some of which are a damn sight more valuable than breeding indiscriminately.
Just for a start, try pulling every gay doctor and nurse out of the system and see how you get on.
1. It is more valuable to human life if we have some people that AREN'T breeding right now, actually. I don't know if you noticed, but there are too many fucking humans.
2. So gay people are incapable of procreating? I really should tell that to the pregnant lesbian in my apartment complex.

I was agreeing with him until this. What the fuck? What does that even mean?
I don't "respect" anyone simply because they have reproduced or can reproduce. Not even my own parents. Sure, breeders have their function and place, but I hardly think that their contribution to society should be noted as a “social responsibility” nor as a mark of respect. I don’t expect anyone to have children. I don’t view reproducing as an obligation that one must fulfill for the sake of it. I can’t imagine that in the year 2008 anyone in the modern world still thinks that way.
Also you seem to forget that A. LGBT individuals can also “transmit life” to next generation and
B. Not all straight people choose to have children even though they are capable.
Yeah, cause that's JUST what we need. More fucking people.
@Doctor Whom: I'm guessing her last name? Children can be so cruel, but these nutters take the cake.

Haha, no. I don't respect people any more for their ability to breed than for their ability to digest food.
Raising a child properly if you choose to have one is what is a social responsibility and can be done irrespective of sexual orientation. One of these goddamn miracles pops out of a vagina every second, if you do it too you're not special in the slightest.
If that were the case, you'd be all in favour of gays adopting/getting in vitro fertilisation, and against childless or aged couples.
You're not. In other words, you lie.
Wow, you're more full of yourself than my boss!
No, I've never felt even the tiniest respect towards people just because they've figured out how to procreate. In many cases, I despair instead.
Heterosexuals enjoy being the dominant sexual and social paradigm, therefore the dominant class gets to define what is "right", what is "wrong" and what is "real", often at the expense of anyone different. Man, this is textbook stuff, you fucking retard. It's also ridiculous to say that if you aren't breeding every time you have sex, you should just abstain. That's unacceptable for most people, and I'm pretty sure Dan the Self-Righteous fucks only for pleasure and not procreation.
societal responsibility of transmitting life
I carry a genetic disorder that causes a congenital heart condition.
I am probably not going to have children and adopt.
So I don't get any respect because I am "like the gay"?
"respect because of the societal responsibility of transmitting life to the next generation that we take on, not because of the sexual activity that we partake in."
Transmitting life isn't a sexual activity?
My aunt and uncle don't have kids.
Not all straight couples have kids. Are childless straight couples worthy of less respect then others? What about gays that adopt? They may not have given birth to the child but they are taking the responsibility of raising it. I think that's worthy of some respect.
Guess I don't deserve any respect then, as I have not been able to conceive a new life.
Danny boy, gays carry the potential of new life, just as straight people do. As we now can start a new life in a petri dish, every lesbian can, technically, "take on the responsibility of transmitting life to the next generation". As there still needs to be a womb for the new life to gestate in, gay guys needs a surrogate mother in order to "transmit life".
See, it's not about the sex at all. They just want to be respected as human beings, inhabitants of this Earth.
Confused?
