Just the opposite of "safety"
On the issue of safety, it's the liberals here who are causing the pain and misery.
The truth is that this Planned Parenthood "comprehensive sex" approach doesn't work. In the long run, when you give out condoms and tell kids that "safer sex" will protect you, more kids get diseases and pregnancies, not fewer. It's essentially telling kids to play Russian Roulette.
And worse, these are authority figures giving kids the message that they don't have to have self-control or be responsible. Everyone knows that condoms are available in any drug store. If, in the eyes of the liberals, kids are too "irresponsible" to buy them, they are too irresponsible to use them. It simply doesn't work.

The truth is that this Planned Parenthood "comprehensive driving" approach doesn't work. In the long run, when you require seat belts and tell kids that "defensive driving" will protect you, more kids get auto accidents, not fewer. It's essentially telling kids to play Russian Roulette.
Support Driving Abstinence!
EDIT: ^ Hey, dude. You ninja’d my idea! :-P
Actually, in places where safe sex is taught instead of abstinence only, the teen pregnancy rate is lower. In fact, the teen prego rate is lower now in America than it was in the good ol 1950's.
I'm so fucking sick of absolutely everything being divided into liberal and conservative here in the US. Can we not have one fucking issue where people don't dismiss merely on the basis of it being labeled either liberal or conservative? Isn't there anything that we can simply go for the more effective answer? In this case, safe sex has a statistically significant advantage over abstinence. No "liberalism", just straight numbers.
Funny, because places with comprehensive sex-ed and easy access to contraceptives have LOWER rates of disease, pregnancy, AND ABORTION than, say... the Bible Belt.
@LDM
Not as long as conservatives insist on slapping the "liberal" label on every opinion not their own.
And the biggest (or at least the most influential) offender is Fox "News" and other extreme right pundits.

Your pants are burning.
P.S. I, too, resist the Mass.
They gave us free condoms in college. I don't see why there's a magic line set at 18 below which you are supposed to be sexually pure and naive. Nobody is.
Sex ed should work the same way public school does. It should focus on the needs of the general student body and if parents don't like it, they can freaking home school the way they do when they don't want their kids learning "evilution."
P.S.: Using condoms and contraceptives IS being responsible.
In the long run, when you give out condoms and tell kids that "safer sex" will protect you, more kids get diseases and pregnancies, not fewer.
This is absolutely false. Kids have sex whether they use condoms or not. The idea that the fear of pregnancy will keep kids celibate is total nonsense.
The teen pregnancy rates in Europe are way below those of the US, and the difference has been traced to the fact that although European kids have just as much sex as American kids, if not more, they use more birth control.
Then why are the teen pregnancy rates higher in the Bible Belt, where 'abstinence-only' programs predominate?
Typical nonsense from a known anti-gay hate group.
WTF? o_O
Okay, if that's true, then explain why:
-Schools that teach abistenence sex ed have higher rates of std's and teen pregnancies than schools that teach all inclusive sex ed
- There are actually HIGHER rates of abistent kids at schools that teach all inclusive sex ed
- The national teen pregnancy is lower than it used to be
- If teens now how to use birth control, then that means less need for abortions
"Everyone knows that condoms are available in any drug store."
Everyone except sheltered Christian teenagers who get abstinence-only "sex-ed." Since they don't know how to protect themselves, they fuck each other, end up pregnant, and then the Bible Belt ends up with the highest teen pregnancy rate in the country. Fucktard.
You retards don't have a clue do you? Why is it that pretty much everywhere in the world where you teach proper sex ed, including the correct use of contraceptives, teen pregnancies are down?
Where are they highest, do you ask? In the fucking Bible Belt of the United States where kids are taught abstinence only.
Yah. That works.
You know, if kids were taught in that "comprehensive sex education" that there are other forms of "sex" than intercourse, it would also help reduce pregnancy, with or without condoms.
However, doing it with no protection whatsoever, like in the fifties, it´s an ammulet against them. Please(note, there are now fewer pregnancies and STDs than 50 years before, not more)
You have to have self-control and responsibility, in order to purchase and use contraceptives, stupid!
Citation needed for your figures on higher rates of stds and pregnancies with condoms, than without.
The ironic thing is that comprehensive sex ed also encourages abstinence. "No glove, no love" and all that.
And yes, if you can't be bothered even to buy a cheap piece of latex beforehand, you're too irresponsible to be having sex. Condoms, as you've pointed out, are cheaply and widely available.
So what you're saying here is, kids aren't responsible enough to buy condoms when they want to have sex, but they're totally responsible enough to just not have sex at all?
Sometimes I wonder if these people even remember what it was like to be a horny teenager. My guess is no, because why do they think that kids can just ignore their sexual urges? I think it's funny how Christians think they can control everyone's sex lives. It's like trying to push back the tide with a broom.
No no everyone, you don't get it! He said "in the long run"! So really, while now actual sex ed seems to be strongly advantageous, it's only a matter of time before we hit the wall. The mechanism of it is unclear, but one day we'll get up in the morning and everything will be ruined forever and it'll be because of free condoms in a school nursery.
Teenage pregnancy rates (Pregnancies per 1000 girls age 15-19):
The Netherlands 12
Germany 18
Finland 19
Massachusetts 49
Connecticut 57
South Carolina 79
Georgia 80
Mississippi 85
Texas 88
(USA total 70)
So much for "telling kids that safer sex will protect you, more kids get pregnancies" ...
We all know if these fundies really cared about reducing pregnancies, STD's, or abortion; they'd be all for sex ed and contraceptive use, because that's what works. But the truth is that they don't care much at all about people's well-being. They need these boogeymen "punishments", to keep people afraid and under their social control.
And if kids still have sex and get one of these "punishments", then that just leaves them even more vulnerable to their social control, now doesn't it?
Mass ignorance is always a win-win to these fundies.
Right..because safe sex = spreading aids
and wearing a condom = not responsible.
It is opposites day in this fundies world.
And in other news, up is down, right is left, and blue is red
I wish fundies were this dedicated to actual facts when it comes to memorizing things
"Informing children about Sin and how to avoid it through Christ's salvation causes them to sin more and avoid Christ."
This is basically what this numb nutz fundy just said..so I guess we should just no longer tell kids about aids, and condoms, and how pregnancies happen...because....it will stop aids and pregnancy from happening.
We can also avoid teaching children about sin and christ, because that will stop sin from happening as well, according to fundy logic.

Abstinence doesn't always work either. Just ask those girls on teen mom.
"In the long run, when you give out condoms and tell kids that "safer sex" will protect you, more kids get diseases and pregnancies, not fewer."
LIES!
The truth is that this Planned Parenthood "comprehensive sex" approach doesn't work
That is a bald faced lie. Ever since this bullshit of 'abstinence only' replacing comprehensive sex education, the teen pregnancy rate and STD rates have exploded.
"It's essentially telling kids to play Russian Roulette."
Yes, it's entirely comparable to Russian Roulette. There is in fact now a chance of dying by having sex with a condom on.
So, getting married for the sake of satisfying sexual urges in the pro-abstinence environment is somehow better for all involved and causes no long-term pain or suffering? Telling girls that they must remain chaste or burn in hell until the right heterosexual male claims their hand in marriage is not a recipe for disaster? Marriage magically makes infidelity, unwanted pregancy, rape and STD's go away?
What a crock of shite. Mass Resistance lives in a fantasy.
It's wrong to deny medically sound information to teens just because you're afraid they'll use it. Yes, they will use it, eventually. But at least the ones who have more to lose (females) will be better prepared against some of the boys and/or men who would take advantage of ill informed women.
Oh, wait... that's why you don't like it...
