Joanne, Joanne, Joanne, let me explain, Joanne, what your books mean, Joanne, because, Joanne, here’s a Joanne quote that means men, Joanne, can be women, Joanne, and I hope, Joanne, you realise, Joanne, how very Joanne wrong, Joanne, you are, Joanne, and also Jo.

One can only guess at what this was a response to.
I suppose that was her intention (that the reader has to guess), however, without context it is still meaningless.
I kinda wanna say she’s an author I liked who’s going “off the rails”…but, I actually tried reading the whole Harry Potter series a while back, I guess just “to see what all the fuss was about” because I never got into it when it was super popular…meh, I couldn’t finish the whole thing, kinda lost interest halfway through.

I mean, I grew up with Harry Potter (like so many), and I read most of them as they came out, so I may be a bit biased there, but the novels really weren’t that bad. Especially before they were tainted by She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named going all TERF.
That being said, I still think the Percy Jackson books (and their countless spinoffs) are objectively much better anyway. At least Rick Riordan is a very open minded person who really appreciates his fans, as opposed to a certain She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Seriously, I’m actually kinda impressed how Rick manages to write very LGBTQIA+ friendly books about Greek myths(*) and such while still staying very kid-friendly.
(*)You know; perpetually horny, omnisexual gods everywhere who can’t help knocking up every second mortal they see.

Oh, I think she’s definitely lost it. The thread in question has nothing at all to do with the person Rowling is apparently deadnaming here; it was about repeating someone else’s name (and I can’t even tell if this is actually deadnaming or not, as the poster appears to use the name they’re repeating on their main Twitter account), and someone mentioned this is like a previous Rowling post, and Rowling responded with this random insanity.
La vieillesse est un naufrage .
Sometimes, people work decades to create a positive legacy only to destroy it.

Yeah, maybe I’ll give the series another try eventually, I dunno. I might be a bit biased myself; my favorite fantasy series are the ones I got into a young age, DragonLance by Weis and Hickman (and a shitload of other authors who wrote books in the same universe) and Xanth by Piers Anthony. (which, btw, often gets a bad rap for being misogynistic…I can see that in some of the earlier books, but I think it’s gotten better in that regard as the series goes on.)
Confused?
