You know what you don't find in the central US? Marine fossils jumbled up with all kinds of terrestrial fossils. Which one would expect with a alleged world wide flood that happened abruptly, as in 40 days amirite?, and mixed everything up like a blender.
What you do find the in the central US is discrete layers of fossils appropriate to their environment as that environment changed over millions of years. And the reason you find marine fossils, and only marine fossils, in discrete layers is because at one time in the central US there was a vast inland sea called the Cretaceous or Western Interior Seaway that stretched up through Canada. Over millions of years plate tectonics uplifted the central US as the mainland ground itself on top of the Pacific plate and the seaway dissipated. You know, that thing that causes all the earthquakes and mountain building on the west coast?
This is not "rocket science". All one needs to do is have the courage to actually crack open a relevant textbook (or at least an in depth book aimed at laypeople) and find out what we know and how we know it. But in this day and age, somehow someone's complete and willful ignorance of a subject they will opine upon, in this case geology, and armed with childlike apologetics for their preferred or indoctrinated mythology trumps our accumulated knowledge derived from the scientific method over the last 250+ years.
A man I admire once said the following. Calpsis4, you might want to take note. Or not, and continue to believe that simple little quips actually somehow represent reality.

Go back in time and the seaway is larger, or if you like, there is less land to the east.
Go forward in time and the seaway shrinks until finally what's left becomes land locked and dries up.
