I am very interested in alternative medicine. It has in fact saved my life. But we need to use caution because some of these practices are connected to false worship and demonism. Tapping into other realms and allowing entities in is not something that a Christian wishes to do. Christian Mystics used to practice this? Christian Mystic should not even be a phrase. For more biblical information please see the tracts about Halloween posted on this board.

"Christian Mystic should not even be a phrase."
You're right, all of those Xians that practice faith healing should be banned from engaging in such mysticism.
Hi there, I'm modern scientific medicine. I've saved billions of lives in the last half decade alone and am single-handedly responsible for nearly wiping out infectious diseases.
Seriously, you have to be pretty fucking stupid to look at something that works this well and say you want an alternative.

I know what you mean.
Thanks to the hopes and prayers of his family, and homeopathic medicine, little Johnny fully recovered from his car crash, after only five surgical interventions.

Not heard of Francis of Assisi, John of the Cross, Julian of Norwich, Teresa of Avila, or basically any major Christian thinker between Paul and Calvin. MamaElephant, learn something about your religion, please.

Because religious tracts are well known for their reliable fact-checking and total accuracy on all subjects they cover.
@Hasan
Protestants don't believe in saints. Um, most actually. Sorry, not all. But Catholics and more liberal types (Which tend to believe in saints) are for evolution, so it's probably safe assumption to make that she's from the sect that doesn't believe in Saints, thus Christian Mystics are actually evil, evil people.
@ Mattiedef- How can anyone not believe in saints? Most of them were historically verifiable people, and a few were kings. Their miracles, that's another story.
Pretty much all the fundamentalist and evangelical sects practice mysticism to some degree, because they claim to have "direct experience" of God's presence, speak in tongues, get slain in the spirit and have other altered states of consciousness, see angels, signs from God, etc. Catholics seem to be more wary about such experiences, and will at least consider the possibility of the "mystic" being mentally ill.
Demonism? That's an ideology I've never heard of. Do the demons have a political party?
Oh and by the way, the Jesus character was clearly a 'mystic'.
If you're getting your biblical information from tracts, you need some brain floss stat.
I gave my friend, a Lutheran minister, some tracts once for an April Fool's joke, and wound up winessing a real-life meltdown. It would have been funny if she hadn't chased me out of her house.

That's fine. I'll just commune with Quan Yin myself and be happy that your negative energy isn't there to ruin the experience. I'd rather be immersed in her kindness and comfort than the hateful spirit of your vengeful god.
Christian Mystic should not even be a phrase.
Indeed. Mysticism nourishes the spirit and the self. Christianity is an extensive list of arbitrary rules designed to control the sheeple. Your god no more loves his creations than I love cockroaches. In fact, he hates his creations so much that he condemns them for choosing their own paths, both spiritually and in life. There is nothing loving, validating or spiritually nourishing about him. Therefore, christian and mystic are oxymorons.

OK. First off, there's no such thing as "demonism". The word you're looking for is "demonology" or, possibly, "infernalism". Secondly, your book bans everything to do with them because your god doesn't want to share.
Confused?
