Homeopathy, as in, medicines based on older, even ancient herbal or potions remedies has some value. Modern medicine hasn't by any means ignored these or tried to hide the value of early discoveries, they are the documenters of many "home remedies" with value AND of the dangerous, never drink that again potions.
Modern medicine has discovered that valuable elements that helps from boiling down the leaves, roots or stems of some plants, the base of many medicines today are fairly simply a boil down, collect the vapors or use whats left of the base.
Like Astrology not being a completely useless venture because it mapped the stars, planets and their movements for the benefit of Astronomy years later: Home brews and Alchemy experiments led to modern medicine and influenced metallurgy and building material development.
So there's something there BUT much of todays Homeopathy is reverse engineering. Aspirin is derived (discovered and origionally developed) from willow tree bark. Homeopathy hawkers would suggest you chew down the bark or boil it down and drink the fluids, they'd be wrong either way, but HEY, IT'S AMERICA, where Opinion is king.
Right now there's a movement to have Dr Oz, bullshit alternative "medicine" shill, removed from the teaching college as he hawks PROVEN DANGEROUS alternative "Meidicines".
His defense? Free speech and the unquestionable new unwritten law in America: Opinion trumps everything UNLESS it's of expert consensus.
Most countries keep hacks and new age medicine shops at bay with a little legal things called proof of claims and doctorates but in America Dr Oz can spend years hawking dangerous products on not his actual doctorate but his unvalidated OPINION.
