[Review of a Left Behind Fan Fiction]
How can you ever believe such a thing? God is holy! He can have nothing to do with anyone who is not righteous. And the only way one is made righteous is by believing in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins and that He is Lord. Jesus' blood wipes away sin. God will not, cannot, command someone to be evil just to fulfill a prophecy! God is almighty, all powerful. He loves everyone! You should go back to the verse you have probably heard a million times: John 3:16 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.' The 'world' includes the Anti-christ. I believe that the Anti-christ will have a choice whether to believe in Jesus, but that God also knows in advance what his choice will be. Before you make some snippy reply about how confusing the above statement is, let me remind you that God does NOT have to answer to us! He doesn't have to tell us His plans and purposes. This is the God who created this whole world, think about that for a moment, this whole UNIVERSE, just by speaking! My God is Great. Let the Earth bow before Him.

"God will not, cannot, command someone to be evil just to fulfill a prophecy!"
"the Anti-christ will have a choice whether to believe in Jesus, but that God also knows in advance what his choice will be."
Calvinist fail.
"...let me remind you that God does NOT have to answer to us! He doesn't have to tell us His plans and purposes. "
Oh, we are not under any illusions there, don't you worry. For Bible God never tells us what He thinks. The only ones who do that are people suffering from poor mental health or who have otherwise got their knickers in a twist over their status as special beings beloved of a super mutant sky fairy. Or beardie types who have psychotic urges to make our lives hell on Earth and to gather as many virgins as they can for their own gratification.
And, let's face it, where would we be without anybody to tell us what we are thinking?
(Review of a Left Behind Fan Fiction)
Honestly, I thought "Left Behind" WAS fan-fiction. Not very good fan fiction, at that...
I had to look up "fan fiction" because this so-called review gives me absolutely no idea what Lalaith is talking about.
So goob basically wants us to be soulless automotions, and he wants us to reach that situation by our own free will. He wants us to give up free will through our free will.
Give it up, Lalaith. Get a hobby.
God will not, cannot , command someone to be evil just to fulfill a prophecy! God is almighty, all powerful.
And again, a fundy shows that she cannot write two consecutive sentences without contradicting herself! Also, she maybe should read up on the book of Job regarding God commanding someone to do some evil stuff.
God will not, cannot, command someone to be evil just to fulfill a prophecy!
"But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart..." (Exodus 9:12)
God is almighty, all powerful.
So who are you to tell God what he can or cannot do?
He can have nothing to do with anyone who is not righteous.
Except for creating them in the first place.
God will not, cannot, command someone to be evil just to fulfill a prophecy!
I guess you never heard about God "hardening Pharaoh's heart" or having King Herod order every first born male child killed.
let me remind you that God does NOT have to answer to us! He doesn't have to tell us His plans and purposes.
Cop out alert! Cop out alert!
"God will not, cannot, command someone to be evil just to fulfill a prophecy!"
So your god is not omnipotent. Good to know.
Oh, and your Bible disagrees with you. According to the bible, god can and does make people do evil things; Exodus 9:12, "But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said to Moses."
Not only that, according to the same Bible, god is the creator of all things evil; Isaiah 45:7, "I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things."
I would say your god is a sadistic bastard and if I ever meet it, I will demand that it apologize to me.
"I believe that the Anti-christ will have a choice whether to believe in Jesus, but that God also knows in advance what his choice will be. "
Yep, and Yahweh the Omniscient knew what Adam and Eve and the "snake" would do too, all before it ever happened. God purposefully crafted a flawed creation start to finish. So much for free will.
"This is the God who created this whole world, think about that for a moment, this whole UNIVERSE, just by speaking! "
Magical incantations, how very Bronze Age.
So God created free will, but he knows what will happen. So we don't have choices then, just the illusion of choice?
Also, if God loves everyone, why can't He have anything to do with non-righteous people?
@whatever:
We should put Lalaith and Anna Diehl into one room with a bunch of cameras. The PPV should make a bunch of money. I know I would pay to see it!
ETA:
God is holy! He can have nothing to do with anyone who is not righteous.
Maybe Lalaith should also re-read (or is it read for the first time?) the gospels, to see what kind of people Jesus used to hang out with. If I remember correctly he wasn’t a big fan of people who insisted he should only socialize with those they considered “righteous”.
Was Jesus given a choice to believe in God? Sounds like Jesus got screwed on this deal. Maybe Jesus is the Anti-Christ, come back to kill dear old deity dad for sacrificing him in order to fix problems that shouldn't have been problems in the first place. All I know is, if I were Jesus, I'd be pretty pissed.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bow, bow, bow. Now go away, please, I'm busy here.
"This is the God who created this whole world, think about that for a moment, this whole UNIVERSE, just by speaking!"
Meh, come back when you have a god who carves the world out of the corpse of an ice giant like Odin or one who wanks, sneezes and spits the other gods into existence like Atum.
"And the only way one is made righteous is by believing in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins and that He is Lord. Jesus' blood wipes away sin"
I believe in my small intestine that Jesus is a meme used by the shameless to control the masses. He is obsession. His blood is messy. It causes division and strife.
Close enough?
You really need to study your own religion's doctrine and theology a bit more. According to Christisn doctrine, God can do anything. "Omnipotence" is one of the core attributes of the Christian god.
If there is something God "can't" do, then he is not omnipotent; he is limited. If he is limited then he is no longer "God," but rather just A "god."
So, by your own logic, you have just disproved your own faith.
Lalaith, you're speaking as if the gospel of John in specific and the bible in general were known to possess some inherent authority, or to be an accurate depiction of god's existence, nature, and relationship to mna.
Whatever for?
Confused?
