The problem with the atheist is that he doesn’t believe in his own quote-mined version of God. He has an image of God that doesn’t exist. He is only an atheist in his own mind.

I'm not altogether convinced that atheists believe in God, quote-mined or not. Additionally, I'm not altogether convinced that an atheist has an image of God that does not exist; instead, he does not have an image of God period.
The problem with theism, correspondingly, is that you all have different images of God. All of which you are extremely sure about, and would fight to the death over.
I think I'm going to need treatment for the stupid burns that I got from reading this quote.
And you're paying for it, Ray.
He is only an atheist in his own mind.
Realistically that is the only place it's possible for me to be an atheist. If I could be an atheist in someone else's mind we wouldn't keep having these little discussions with you.
What is it about fundies that makes them insist on asserting they know more about what people think/feel than the people being discussed? I sincerely doubt Ray has ever met an atheist yet he still claims to know what makes them tick. Perhaps it's because Ray, and other fundies, devote their lives to preserving a fantasy despite all reason and evidence?

You know the line... it's about speaking and English.
However you cut it Ray, you're a moron. As evidenced by the above posting, and the great banana fiasco, amongst others. The thing to do, when you find yourself in a hole, is to stop digging.
Atheists don't have any image of a god. They don't believe in any god in the first place. Duh? Is it very difficult for you Ray?
You act like such a pathetic knob sometimes, no wonder people mock you. Belief is a stupid thing. That's one thing you are a good example of to youngsters.
Fuck off, Ray. You would know what quote mining is more than any Atheist, wouldn't you?
-edit- ROFLMAO! I just took a look at his blog, look at his rules:
"Cuss words (mild or abbrev.), blasphemy, URL’s, incivility, or failure to give
the name "God" or "Jesus" capitals, will be deleted. Cartoons--Richard Gunther."
Everyone has their own image of 'God'. Many Christians claim Jesus proclaimed a new covenant and the old testament rules don't apply (they can wear mixed fabrics, eat pork and lobster, work weekends, etc.), except those that do, of course (no homosexuality, adultery or lying to, stealing from or killing people who didn't have it coming). Many who speak of the bible being literally true, mean their interpretation of their preferred version of the bible should be treated as the literal truth, nothing else.
I read the bible, in several versions, and I found stuff I agree with, stuff I disagree with and stuff reality disagrees with. It is not quote mining to raise examples from these latter two categories.
Yes, there is more to the bible that bloody murder, mayhem and cruel and barbaric punishments meted out for stupid, trivial things. But that murder, mayhem and injustice is still in there, and unlike some I do not choose to ignore it and pretend it is a "message of love".
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
