A show is ruined because an actor on it is gay. That is...totally not overreacting. Not. At. All.

That people HAVE to come out with their homosexuality is an utter mystery to me, why cant they be discreet for once and keep their sexual proclivities to themselves, instead of forcibly shoving their abberrant lifestyle into our faces when we never wanted to hear about it in the first place.

I get the feeling he never actually watched Star Trek, he was just pretending he did so there was more non-existent weight added to his argument.

It's nonsensical, anyway. Yeah, the actor is gay, so what? It's not like they went back and redid every original-series episode so Sulu's sole purpose was to remind the entire Enterprise crew that he was gay every five seconds. The actor is gay, the character, as far as I know, was not - and even if he was, it didn't fucking matter anyway.
This wasn't a problem with homosexuals "shoving their sexual aberrations into MY face" so much as it's his problem with homosexuals even daring to exist. Not even getting into the irony of a fundie complaining of someone else "forcibly shoving" something they want nothing to do with into their faces - if irony meters were a real thing, the antics of fundies would make the producers of those richer than Microsoft.

Why? You never once saw a hint he was gay on the show. You obviously don’t follow him on social media. Nothing you watch seems to include a gay Sulu or Takei, just someone told you online. How does that ruin the show.
