James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

Subtle, Don. One would have thought that with all your dealings with the Mob, you would have learned how to passive-aggressively threaten someone. Of course, that suggests you were either paying attention or have the brains necessary to grasp subtlety.
Is it a conspiracy theory if it's real? Of course Trump taped all his conversations with everyone. The man is a control freak, who needs people to be loyal to him.
Trump better hope those tapes don't hurt him.
Course Trump just succeeded in turning the FBI against him as Comey was actually respected around the office. Good job dumbass in chief.
Honestly, given the choice between the head of the FBI on the one hand, and Trump on the other, I know who I I'd bet on making compromising, incriminating, or all-around stupid comments in a personal conversation. I know Trump doesn't see it that way, but if he does release any "tapes", he's just going to make himself (more of) a laughingstock.
So really, what does anyone have to lose?
@The Angry Dybbuk: I hate the man as much as you do, but impeachment does conventionally require some kind of, you know, allegation. Just being an idiot isn't sufficient reason to kick somebody out of the big chair.
@creativerealms: That might be so, but they still aren't going to turn on him until and unless his continued existence threatens their own power, and I don't see that happening any time soon.
@Jamaican Castle
Like hard evidence that he's using his position to enrich himself, like he's been doing since he won the election?
@ Jamaican Castle:
A fair point. I suspect, however, that Trump has a nasty little "secret" that he, in his arrogance, let slip to near staff (like Comey). I mean, the Orange Idiot isn't exactly subtle, nor discreet. Granted, no one can act on a mere hunch, but the nature of Trump's threat about leaks suggests he's hiding a lot more than just some torrid Oval Office sexcapade.
(Check out what just showed up through Reuters.)
As an aside, I always have to laugh at people talking about "taping" or "video taping" something.
I guess that saying you're "memory carding" a conversation doesn't have the same ring. Though I don't get why they can't just say, "Recording". Tapes have been an obsolete format for 20 years. Though a lot of indie artists have been releasing music on tape and recording music using analog equipment.
Can you say 'Saturday Night Massacre ', Donald Fart...?!
...Richard 'I Am Not A Crook' Nixon did, though. And he still had a higher approval rating than you: prior to his resignation after Watergate. >:D
@Bimaac: People still roll down their car windows, too, even though electric systems have been the norm for maybe 20 years. Idioms change slowly.
Besides, in government service, they might still use tape recorders... budget cuts, you know.
(Incidentally, I've heard that magnetic tape is still a great medium for archival storage of truly massive amounts of data, but that's neither here nor there.)
Confused?
