And what do the hospital bills of the people who just sat down and got beaten and shot in the eye with pepper balls add up to? The expense of tanks tearing up the streets and specialty ammunition used with wild abandon not because the crowd is unruly but because they are there and trying to make people think about a problem they don’t want to hear about annoys them? How about the funeral expenses of those summarily killed by police that spark the protests in the first place, killed by madmen running them down in cars at multiple protests, killed by thugs armed with assault rifles claiming the streets as their own with the tacit approval of police who are unconcerned when they break the law? A very recent example of that almost went unpunished, the murderer in fact aided by the responding officers who only managed to prove that there is a problem and as long as the problem is ignored the streets are far less safe.
It’s funny that you’ll invoke a dollar value like there’s a hard limit on other people’s freedom and lives, but for government agencies or even private business to tell you to wear a mask? That’s tyranny. Public healthcare? Tyranny. Murderers roaming the street and police treating the law not as their obligation but as the privilege granted only to the chosen? Well that just depends now doesn’t it?
