Today, water flows on Mars only when another object, i.e. a meteor, falls to Mars and melts some of the ice.

So Mars never had an ocean. Nor did the water disappear, as others have speculated before. It’s still on Mars, only frozen, either as blocks of ice or as frost mixed into the soil.

The objects that did the bombardment came from one event that threw vast quantities of water, rock and mud into space. That event was the Great Flood. That’s why the water is salty.

Wow. That's an, um, interesting hypothesis. Aside from the fact there is not a single shred of evidence to support it, real or Biblical, I'm not sure there is a mechanism by which it could even theoretically occur. Aside from Earth actually exploding or being hit by something big enough to totally destroy it.

The prevailing theory is that the Moon was created when a huge chunk of Earth was ejected into space as the result of a massive collision. It only got a couple of hundred thousand miles before it got stuck in orbit around Earth and began to coalesce into the Moon as we know it today. It's hard to imagine what magnitude of catastrophe would have to occur to allow water, rock and mud (which surely would be vaporised anyway) to shoot off as far as Mars. It would certainly not have allowed for anything living to survive whether they were in a boat or not.

I hate how these fucks postulate hypotheses without a single thought for evidence, feasibility or mechanism. I wouldn't hate it, except so many of the less well educated suck it up like a certain fruity beverage.

I do believe in the Flood, but this is not Biblical. The Bible does not claim that any of the debris from the flood few into space - that would defy the law of gravity among other things.

Actually, some speculate that the Flood may have been local to the region where people were living at the time (in Mesopotamia), because the rest of the world was uninhabited. Thus, that region was "the whole world" for the writers of Genesis and just flooding that part of the Earth would have accomplished God's purposes. I'm comfortable with this view, or the more traditional view that it was a worldwide flood, which there is evidence for as well (i.e., flood stories in almost every world culture). I would not be comfortable with Hurburt's view, though.

Oh no more, please Mr. Wilde, I am bereft of ribs! I didn't know the UAC had temporal technology as well as teleportational. So there was aspects of the "DOOM" games we gamers weren't told about? Damn you, id Software! I'd have loved to played maps (via WADs) in which one had to travel back in time to Noah's era, take him & his family out with my BFG, then use one of the UAC's temporal/teleportational devices to send all the 'Flood' water to Mars via the teleporter on Phobos, to drown all those Imps, Demons, Cacodemons, Cyberdemons, Arachnotrons etc on Mars. John Carmack & co., you've missed a trick - and a potential opportunity - here!

The Bible doesn't mention Mars. Nor any other planet. Or any other solar system. Or any other galaxy. Or any other universe. Or any other dimension in our space-time continuum. Indeed, according to the Bible, the Earth is flat, supported by columns, with a solid dome or 'Firmament' above it, with lights in it.

...meanwhile, humanity, and it's quest for knowledge via science has proven otherwise, getting it right every time (the ancient Greeks - as in pre-Biblical - were able to figure out that the world was spherical way before those Bronze Age goatfuckers with ideas above their stations thought they came up with their unjustifiable bullshit called the Bible, and thought they had the right to claim it was fact without anything to back up it's claims, i.e. evidence).

The juggernaut that is scientific discovery rolls inexorably on, bringing more and more facts - backed up by hard, solid, physical evidence - to those who want to know.

Meanwhile, fundies such as you and Terry Hurtbutt here keep moving those goalposts, in that river in Egypt, to try and justify your ever-failing religious 'beliefs'. The Soviet Kosmos & US Viking, Mariner, Sojourner, Spirit & Opportunity probes just keep proving the Bible wrong, damn their sensors! [/sarcasm] But then, Sputnik-1 in 1957, at a stroke completely annihilated the Bible's model of the universe; and all via Atheist Soviet science, no less. So it wasn't just the thought of the USSR's potential militarisation of space that made America shit itself at that time. Good.

Hmmmm, people often living near a water supply such as a river or a lake and thus having experienced catastrophic flooding which then got mythologized as big events often did in ancient times -or- a 600 year old man without training in biology went on a worldwide scavenger hunt to find 2 of every animal and was somehow able to find, identify, capture, and haul all of them back, was able to feed and maintain them for half a year, despite all of the specialized diets and insane amount of cleaning work, was able to keep the Ark climate controlled and somehow the animals survived the period afterward where the plants were regrowing and the prey was gestating and repopulating while somehow the tropical fish and freshwater fish didn't die from the violent change in salinity, oh and the water went into hammerspace after the flood. Hmmm, which one sounds more plausible?
