I seriously think atheism is a religion. They practice it with religious dogma. Atheists reject God. It's rebellion. One has to have something to rebel against, yes? All atheists I have met are angry people who can not reconcile that the circumstances that cause thier pain is caused by thier sin or the sins of others. Many are victims of false religious teaching and abuse ("you make proselytes twice as fit for hell"). It should be evident that what they are missing is the truth - the shalom of the Gospel of Jesus

Why oh why do we keep having to say the same things over and over and over?
Atheism is not a religion, just as not believing in Santa Claus is not a religion. Nor is it rebellion. The wish to see some proper evidence for the existence of something before believing in that something, is not rebellious in the slightest.
And, believe me, we are not the ones who are victims of false religious teachings. We are the ones who can see that the teachings are false, and again that hardly counts as rebellion.
Atheism is a religion in the same way that "Bald" is a hair color.
Atheism is a religion in the same way that NOT collecting stamps qualifies as a hobby.
Oh, and "Shalom" does not mean "Truth", it menans "Peace" = "Jerusalem" = "City of Peace".
The rebellious among atheists don't need a real god to rebel against. THEY HAVE YOU. You are plenty real and oppressive enough to do, without dragging in Darth YHWH and his Gomorrah-shattering Death Hand powers.
(Which would, I admit on further consideration, be much more to the atheists' credit, principle in the face of overwhelming force and all, but it would move atheism from the realm of common sense to that of pyrrhic, heroic feats, where it does not belong.)
"Faith" is an indoctrination you're born into. It's supported by willful ignorance of logic, fact, and evidence.
Atheism, on the other hand, is a CONCLUSION one reaches independently by ACCEPTING logic, fact, and evidence.
None of the atheists I know are "angry" people. Bitter perhaps about theist asshats holding our society hostage. But on the whole the atheists I know act far more "Christian" in their charity and brotherly love than almost all the Christians I know.
“I seriously think atheism is a religion. They practice it with religious dogma.”
That’s a piss-poor defining quality of religion. I mean, i practice ‘stop on yellow’ more consistently than some people attend church.
“Atheists reject God.”
Meh. Theists reject Zeus. Doesn’t make ‘Not Worsihping Greek Gods’ a discrete religion.
“It's rebellion.”
I’d have to believe in gods to rebel against one.
“One has to have something to rebel against, yes?”
No, because YOU are calling our stance as rebellion. Because you’re the one that believes in God.
“All atheists I have met are angry people who can not reconcile that the circumstances that cause thier pain is caused by thier sin or the sins of others.”
Yes, we’re angry about being told that we’re angry. I’m not, and i’m fucking pissed that you say i am.
"Many are victims of false religious teaching and abuse ("you make proselytes twice as fit for hell").”
Strawman.
“It should be evident that what they are missing is the truth - the shalom of the Gospel of Jesus”
What’s obvious is that you’re using my lack of belief as a basis for your bible fanfic. AT LEAST give my character a big tiddy goth girlfriend, please?
Confused?
