The conductor of the Philadelphia opera is a woman
Affirmative action in action. So sad.
Is it hard for you to believe that a woman can be just as qualified to do this job as a men ??
Yes. I don't believe in ridiculous fairy tales.

Two of the best choir conductors I have ever personally experienced were women. One in the US, one in Germany. I also experienced two extraordinarily excellent men. The rest, mixed, were ok to bad. So the excellence is divided up 50:50.
... I hate to break it to you but women have been performing opera since way the hell before affirmative action. Like, hundreds of years before affirmative action. You have no excuse to be more ignorant than a dung-covered peasant of more than 300 years ago. You cannot possibly claim to be an actual fan of opera or even to have a passable knowledge of history if your knowledge of women's role in any musical field could be this limited. Must I also assume you to be deaf or the victim of a cult that prohibits music entirely and treats women like animals entering mainstream society for the first time after generations of isolation?

What, does having breasts and a vagina cause you to lose your ability to conduct in your mind? Hint:From my limited experience I’d say that it has nothing to do with either and women can of course be conductors, what are you even talking about? Or are you saying that women don’t have musical abilities in the first place? In which case I won’t even dignify such an obviously preposterous accusation with further arguments. That’s just dumb.
What we call affirmative actions are just to counteract the constant affirmative action that males benefit from, just by being born as males.
So sad that it’s needed, yes.
Yeah, it’s ridiculous alright; women generally have to be twice as qualified and experienced for a job, to be perceived as half as competent.
Confused?
