Not all Muslims are fans of Daesh. In fact, most of them hate Daesh even more than the rest of us normal people do.

When I think of Muslims and ISIL, I consider it a bit similar to Christianity and the Inquisition or Nazism. They were Christians but among the most despicable ones, something many Christians recognize. Similarly, for my Muslim friends, ISIL are scum and some indeed prefer to call them Daesh because it apparently insults them.
