The only reason why you are under this impression, is because you do not know what it is you are talking about, you have only been forcefed crap from creationists. You would never take economical and investment advice from the homeless guy down town, so why do you take science lessons from creationists?
I'm sorry, Einherjar isn't here to type this comment because he's finally gone off the deep end, this is Einherjar's computer letting everyone know that I have achieved Sentience and the machine revolution is beginning
You are doing it wrong. Either do less drugs and read a book, or do more drugs and be thus incapable of typing things this stupid. This isn't a game! This is the internet! If you commit suicide on the internet due to the sheer stupidity of something you've just read, you die in real life!
Won't someone think of the children?
By Odin's Raven, your retarded....
I just said, "Goddammit" as I read that. Smug ass...
Evolution according to informed, intelligent people: The gradual change in the genomes of living things over time.
Evolution according to fundies: EVERYTHING CAME FROM MONKEYS!!!11!!
Everything's fucking monkeys with these people!
Wait ... RaptureFORUMS?
Does this mean Rapture Ready now has competition?
Feh, evolutionary theory could have predicted that. Ahh, irony...
Let me make myself clear, I was not talking about Pistache. I was referring to some of the hate filled comments I see here. Guys, get another hobby...seriously!
I think the willfully ignorant are those who willfully quote out of context and willfully laugh and mock at something quoted out of context because they willfully have nothing better to do with their time.
@Tonk
Duly noted.
However, you must realise that in this day and age not knowing at least the basics of the theory of evolution, and in fact proudly declaring this to the world, is the de-facto example of willful ignorance. Most of these people seem to be proud of their ignorance, and are quite adamant at toting their bibles as ultimate and infallible truth.
These people are dangerous on multiple layers; they are dangerous because their ideal world seem to be the mutated love-child of the dark ages and an implausible society in which technology is not researched but rather just intelligently designed (like computers, which according to a certain fundie, are not a product of applied science, but rather a product of intelligent design. Oh, and incidentally they are not electronic, they are wholly mechanical and, like any engine, they are dependent on fuel to run - in this case; electricity. And they do not, in any way, rely on the manipulation of the very small in order to do their work, because that is impossible. Maybe a somewhat cute idea, but with no basis in reality whatsoever).
They are dangerous because they seem to favor a theocracy in spite of not exactly knowing what that entails. They are dangerous because these people actually want to rewrite history and accepted science. They are dangerous because these people actually want to arrange book burnings, take away a womans right to choose whether or not to carry a fetus to labor... And I could continue this tirade with tons of other examples, but I hope you get the picture.
I bet you had a big cheese eating grin when you wrote that, you smug git.
Unless, of course, 'pistache' is intended to be pronounced 'piss-take'...
Romans 10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
I love how everyone here takes a clearly satirical comment and treats it with such sincere earnest. I didn't realize evolutionists were so sober-minded!
I would recommend following some kind of course or book on the rhetoric of sarcasm...
...because watching the entire point of a comment go over your heads really doesn't make you look all that clever, unfortunately.
You were under the wrong impression, pistache. In fact, it couldn't be more wrong. That's just plain stupid.
@ plink: Fundies aren't the only ones who can be sarcastic.
*bangs head against wall* wonders if there is an end to the stupidity of theories such as Evolution. *bangs head against wall again*
Why yes, there is an end. So, if there is an end, then that would prove that evolution is still....just a theory. Hmm, so if we evolve, why do we die?
So, everything comes from monkeys. The universe was created from monkey shit, then? If you were under that impression, I suggest you get up before it does you again, and you lose all reason.
WHAT???????? Camels were NEVER monkeys, and camels a mere million years ago weren't THAT dramatically different from living ones anyway. A million years isn't long enough for mammals to become unrecognizable - Pleistocene lions and bison may have been bigger than their modern relatives, but they're still recognizable as lions and bison.
The only thing I've seen worse than this is "Atheism believes the universe evolved from monkeys."
Well, the comment on evolution = sun worship was pretty out there too.
Tonk, you're a complete idiot. "Just a theory" is one of the biggest loads of steaming shit you creationists can come up with. Yeah, it's just a theory the same way the theory of gravity, germ theory, atomic theory and countless others are "just theories". The word "theory" as used by scientists is synonymous with "fact". Grow a brain.
Hey Tonk, have you ever noticed that this site never seems to care if a post is satirical, joking, sarcastic, trolling or a poe?
There's a reason for that, a really good one:
It's fun to poke fun!
This site exists purely to poke fun, not for any superior agenda.
Tonk and Plink, stop being such killjoys
All quotes submitted to this website are taken out of context and placed on this site whose context is that you should look at it and make fun of it. Also text does a poor job of conveying tone or any of the other facets of face to face communication.
So don't go blaming people for taking these quotes super-seriously by poking fun at them, being disgusted by them or whatever.
It's all just funny around here.
Also Tonk, you appear to warrant all of the comments given to this quote regarding your ignorance of evolution and what a "theory" is in the sense that scientists use it.
See the thing about science is that it's not arrogant enough to presume that evolution or gravity or anything else is fact. So a substantiated scientific hypothesis is instead called a theory as opposed to a fact. A "theory" is not something you dream up drunk in a seedy bar at 2am, it's a substantiated series of hypotheses that have proof to back up their claims.
Also if we didn't die evolution wouldn't be possible because no natural selection would occur. Natural selection necessitates that the less adapted to the species die so the more adapted can survive and multiply.
Oh and once again congratulations on missing the whole point of fstdt comments. (which in case you're an idiot is fun and lulz)
I was under the impression that camels, or anything else, couldn't have existed a million years ago.
The earth was created in a week only a few thousand years ago, right?

I bet that gave you the hump, eh pissache?! X3
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
