Well, my condolences about the current level of corruption in the US. Then the EU and NATO were right to prepare for such an eventuality, even if they really aren't ready.
I don't know you much Shy, but if I remember, when I first noticed you around, it was after you were away from FSTDT, when for me it was an interesting site to discover. So you've been around much longer and I had the opportunity to notice the level of madness we can get exposed to. Although I hope to see you around again in the future, I also understand and respect your move and it may really be for the best. You seem to be able to recognize your limits and to be managing the situation, that's part of maturity.
It also reminds me that I have some (limited) background in psychology and it makes me remember that perhaps I should eventually return to it, food for thought.
As for politics, most of my life was a "break" from it, it was a taboo and I was alienated to it, even though it itself was a type of politics. So it's later that I felt that I needed to learn more about it. I'm probably still ignorant about many movements and much of history, but I can understand the importance of human rights, how they're precious and can be stolen. And evidenced by what happens with the return of fascism, how some run with dishonesty, crimes and lies and still manage to do damage and grab power.
Take care and thanks for sharing instead of just mysteriously vanishing.
It reminds me that Tempus' last comment on FSTDT was https://fstdt.com/882.LVMRC_TZD#184591 dating almost a year ago. I keep seeing their often great old comments when wandering around in the archives (I often use the "random" feature, when I notice a domain name that's new to me I then visit the posts from there, at other times I follow the comments of some regulars I enjoy reading as well).
